Maybe we SHOULD push for polygamy?

Posted on 05/21/2004 8:17:15 AM PDT by Joe Republc

Bump if you think it's time to stand up, be counted, write your congresspersons, and demand the right to marry more than one woman!

Why not? Maybe the current Mrs. Joe Republc would appreciate some help around the house.

Again, why not? After all....

- It doesn't HURT anyone.

- It only affects what happens in the bedroom.

- It's a PRIVATE matter.

- Only narrow-minded Christians have insisted on this in the past.

- We are broad-minded and advanced enough as a culture to handle this. Forget the lessons of the past. In fact, don't even look at tradition.

- If we ask the Mass. Supreme Court to look into it, I'm sure it's constitutional.

- If Adam and Steve can do it, why can't Joe R. and Brittany and Tiffany?

Again, it's my OWN business, and who does it HURT?

Let's have a National Call for Polygamy Day. How about June 21, the day after Father's Day? Let's all call Congress, ABC, NBC, CBS, the local paper, and DEMAND the right to marry more than one woman.

Oh, and let's not forget to call NOW, Ms. magazine, and maybe Barbara Walters.

In the meantime, I'll look for a bigger bed...

Facetiously yours,

-- Joe

Dude that's too complicated. How about a chute system like they have at banks? That way you can send a beer from the kitchen to any room in the house. :)

Dude that's too complicated.

Stern's Monster Bacon Corollary: Any home improvement project overseen by Bacon Man will be insanely complicated, hideously time-consuming, and stunningly expensive.

I very much like that idea, only between you, me, and Allegra there are 11 cats - 14 if you count Gunner's cat Big Joe. How are we gonna keep 'em out of hte tubes?

No pneumatic tubes.

PVC piping and a central 1000 gallon cooling tank.

Try saying that after you introduce the first Mrs. Joe R. to the second Mrs. Joe R.

Well, our cats are way too fat to fit in the tubes. I'm pretty sure that any cat who manages to take a ride in the tube would be so freaked out that they'd only do it once. Okay maybe twice.

True but someone in the kitchen would have to actually put a beer in the chute to get it where you want it to be. What if nobody was in the kitchen? Then you'd have to get up and get it yourself. Totally unacceptable. :)

Oh I forgot, at least two taps in the living room. Can't believe I forgot that.

Forget about the cats. I'd love a ride in the tubes!

If Bacon wants to ride the tubes as well, we'll need to make 'em large enough to hold these:

So we'll need to have padded mattress foam thingies at the ejector end of each tube.

I've always thought that it is more "natural" for men to have more than one mate/wife. Science backs it up too - I think they've even done DNA tests (on mice, etc.).

In the days long ago it was important to mate with more than one woman - improved species survival (look at deer, etc.). It doesn't seem natural (on the whole) to mate with your same sex (although some animals, including some humans will screw anything that moves.)

So, polygamy seems a very natural thing to do. However, killing your enemy or someone who threatens your survival is the natural thing to do as well (like that guy in the next cubicle looking at the same management position).

"Oh I forgot, at least two taps in the living room. Can't believe I forgot that."

We can run the PVC along the junction of the wall and the ceiling
and it will look like expensive 3/4 round moulding.

Once infrastructure is established, we can put a tap
wherever you wish for less than $20.00.

The east corner of every room, for example.

allahu-wetbar!

Well, we're getting close to a deal here, and I'm sure we can all handle the contact with mucous membrane rules and all that logging out stuff, but this particular rule has to go:

No alcohol, dogs or horses.

Fun isn't it? :)

I have a feeling you'd like it around here. But I'm sure Hap is having none of that.
