Let them do the job they were sent there to do, and screw the media!!! And screw the traitorous senators!!!
I think that this is the main problem we are having, but what is the solution ??
It was great. I listened live. Thanks for the transcript though, because there was a few things that I missed.
It was very enlightening.
Mmm, can't agree. As I heard it, he didn't pretend to know that, he hedged about it, said "maybe" it was so at a strategic level, and if so, that was OK. But at a tactical level, he was emphatic that it isn't about oil.
Amazing to read, even more so since another just returned soldier called a local talk show here in my area last week and related almost the same stories. He was upset at the media also, saying that they are hampering the effort because " CNN is on every corner watching every move we make, just waiting for us to make a mistake or something they can report to make us look bad."
When the press is hampering the war effort (while claiming to be impartial) and making them afraid to do their jobs and defend themselves for fear of bad reporting, then that media should be kicked the heck out so these guys can finish this job! They are hoping this goes bad, and are doing all they can to make that come true. This is seriously dangerous to the troops, and to all of us!
I had to go back and look again...
The one thing that really chaps me more than anything else is that, "We're over there for oil," and it chaps me to no end because, if you were there, you would see that oil really -- at least at the tactical level -- now, strategic and operation, maybe -- not operation, but strategic, maybe, and you know what, that's fine. That's fine by me. But at the level that I'm at, this is the farrest [sic] thing from oil.
I don't know...It looks to me that he's convinced the gov't went in for the oil...And the military strategy has the oil in their sights...But at his level no one's thinking about oil...Maybe I'm wrong, but that's what I see...Unfortunately, his oil remark may not play too well in the liberal media...
He was pissed about the protestors and war opponents claiming that. He wasn't saying it himself.
I got ya now...It's past my bedtime and it's a little foggy here in the computer room...Thanks for pointing that out...
I listened to this today at work. It reaffirms my deep hatred for some of our politicians who are making this gentleman's and the rest of our military's jobs that much harder to do. We have 3 enemies in this war on terror-the Islamonazi's, the media and the Nancy Pelosi's here in the U.S.
Cheers, and I could use a few Z's myself :-)
CALLER: Yeah, I think there is, Rush. Unfortunately, you'd have to turn off the TV camera to get it done.
Says it all...
I appreciated hearing this interview. It has had a profound effect on my perception of the war.
The most telling phrase, " We allow them to keep an AK-47 per household, and/or a pistol." That is more "freedom" than we have or than the forces at work in our nation will allow.
I wish somebody would go and document the lives and misdemeanors of the press in Iraq. Photograph them in their hotels, follow them to their bars, take pictures of them harrassing US troops, lurk after them as they pick up chicks, snap them as they sneer and chuckle over their latest anti-soldier fotos, and then make a million on the book.
save for later
Thanks for the written transcript. I heard Jeff, it was a wonderful WONDERFUL call.
Bump.
Hasn't been pushed to the top since 12:45 this morning!
I wish we could just kick the media out of there and get things done. When TV cameras are being used against the troops the way they are they might as well be guns.
Thanks
I agree with you
