Jim Robinson is coming to Colorado! Lets do lunch!
Greetings,
As you may know Jim Robinson and family will be doing a tour of many states this month. They will be in Ft. Collins, Colorado on May 28th and 29th. Their plans are to arrive late in the evening on the 28th and they will be leaving on Saturday afternoon following a Freep of the lefties and a late lunch.
A few of us have been trying to decide where to go for lunch. We would like to have as many Freepers from Colorado and Southern Wyoming join us for lunch.
Here a a couple of choices
1. Since the Freep will be in Ft. Collins we could also do lunch in Ft Collins. We discussed Washington's in Old Town.
2. We Freep in Ft. Collins and do lunch somewhere along I-25 since this will be on their way to Burlington where they will spend Saturady night. We could possibly get the meeting room at Johnson's Corner, just north of the Berthoud exit. Maybe there is a nice restaurant near the Longmont exit at Del Camino.
We need to make a decision soon, so please let us know if you could do the FReep at Noon and lunch afterward or if you can just do one of the agenda items.
Also, feel free to post alternative suggestions for lunch.
Regards,
Tom Buchanan

How much advance notice will there be of any particular leg of the trip so those of us not in a designated city could consider plans to meet up with the FR tour bus at the closest juncture?
I don't have time or the means to make last minute journeys, but I would like to get a chance to meet Mr. R and any other FReepers if at all possible.
Thanks
My heart is in Colorado and I surely the rest of me was there too. But, just the same, HAVE A WONDERFUL VISIT MR. ROBINSON!
OOPS......and I surely WISH the rest of me was there too!
2) works out best for us.
y'all coming to Arizona?
Craker Barrel=Cracker Barrel.

Cracker Barrel, Hmmm! Now that really works :o)
I've seen bus groups there in the past. I called them up, they don't take reservations as such, but on the day of the visit, you can call them ahead of time and get your name on a list, if they are running a list.
The more I think about it, the better I like the idea of Johnson's corner. It is a well known landmark on I-25, is closer to the Denver metro than Fort Collins, they have room for us, and they have world famous cinnimon rolls. Washington's in Fort Collins has lousy parking, especially for Jim's tour bus. The Cracker Barrel is also a fine idea. I like that choice too! I guess we will have to have an online vote, LOL!
We will be FReeping in Fort Collins at the corner of Lemay and Drake, officially starting at noon. Many of us get there by 11:30 so early birds are welcome to start rallying. The leftists usually show up about ten after. They are a sorry looking bunch of old hippies and intellectual types. The public REALLY likes our Support Our Troops Rally and the honking really lifts our spirits.
If any of you FReepers out there want directions to the FReep, let me know.
All the Best
Maybe somebody should FReepmail JR & ask his preference?
Ping!
The Cracker Barrel is also a fine idea.
OOPs, the big boss got wind of that suggestion. Say's I've got to buy her a new dress if we go there. She's holding a gun to my head so's I can't even vote against it.
Com'on guys yah gotta bail me out of this one!!!
Howdy. Unfortunately, there probably won't be a whole lot of advance notice of stops between hotels. We've firmed up the first half of the trip and will probably post that in a couple days, but the second half is not firmed up yet other than the places we'd like to stay and a guess of when we might be there. Some of the trips between cities are going to be all day drives and we'll probably only be making pit stops and lunch. Almost impossible to say in advance where we'll be stopping for lunch. By the way, we'll be traveing in our minivan. No tour bus involved.
That is perfect - have been there and know how to find it......Annie03, navigationally challenged.
Yup. We'll be taking I10 from Las Cruces across New Mexico through Tucson and Phoenix to Quartzsite and then turn north and head up to Lake Havasu City. The trip from Las Cruces to Lake Havasu City is approx 600 miles and is an all day drive. We could probably stop in Phoenix for dinner.
Sounds great!
