Cosby, Saying the Darndest Things
Bill Cosby was anything but politically correct in his remarks Monday night at a Constitution Hall bash commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Brown v. Board of Education decision. To astonishment, laughter and applause, Cosby mocked everything from urban fashion to black spending and speaking habits.

"Ladies and gentlemen, the lower economic people are not holding up their end in this deal," he declared. "These people are not parenting. They are buying things for kids -- $500 sneakers for what? And won't spend $200 for 'Hooked on Phonics.' . . .
"They're standing on the corner and they can't speak English," he exclaimed. "I can't even talk the way these people talk: 'Why you ain't,' 'Where you is' . . . And I blamed the kid until I heard the mother talk. And then I heard the father talk. . . . Everybody knows it's important to speak English except these knuckleheads. . . . You can't be a doctor with that kind of crap coming out of your mouth!"
The Post's Hamil Harris reports that Cosby also turned his wrath to "the incarcerated," saying: "These are not political criminals. These are people going around stealing Coca-Cola. People getting shot in the back of the head over a piece of pound cake and then we run out and we are outraged, [saying] 'The cops shouldn't have shot him.' What the hell was he doing with the pound cake in his hand?"
When Cosby finally concluded, Howard University President H. Patrick Swygert, NAACP President Kweisi Mfume and NAACP legal defense fund head Theodore Shaw came to the podium looking stone-faced. Shaw told the crowd that most people on welfare are not African American, and many of the problems his organization has addressed in the black community were not self-inflicted.

Just when I'm ready to write him off as a lefty...He does lean left but with the clear vision he has of what some of the problems are, how can one dismiss him?
His degree is an Ed. D. The best that can be said about an Ed. D. is that it does take some time to complete.
Now that's the Cosby I know and love - not this hand-wringing mealy-mouthed apologist we've been saddled with for the past fifteen years.
Swygert walked up stone-faced because (and yes, I love HU, my wife and I both went to school there, but the liberalism there is so thick you can cut it with a butter knife) for once, Cosby didn't pander to his baser expectations.
He isn't anti-black or anti-white. He is pro black. Which is understandable since he's black.
He understands that these people are an embarrassment to him and other normal people who are black. It's all very logical.
Kids do leard some things from cartoons. The good cartoons anyway. I rather have my kids watching Fat Albert or Little Bill than Sponge Bob or Power Puff Girls.
I asked "why did you kill everyone in the house?"
"Cuz, they was home."
I don't kow what his thesis topic was. His degree was from UMass Amherst at a time when the School of Education was very liberal, to say the least. However, he did take the initiative to study for a doctorate and did try to find a way to teach kids. It's more than a lot of people do.
You definitely haven't read the same stuff I have.
Heh. His freeper name is
i_spy_cos
his wifey was totally out of line when she got kfi radio talkshow host tammy bruce fired.
Unfortunately I see Cosby headed in the same direction as George Carlin. Once funny, but in the end just angry at the world.
I thought Cosby got his degree from Temple.
There's a department head at our local college who took seven years to complete an Ed.D. Yikes! All that time, so little to show for it.
Cosby for Secretary of State on '04!
I guess not. I have only been watching him since the sixties, so I might have missed something.
The Gene Simmons post was a fake. Go to his website to read the disclaimer. Heck, you don't even have to do that. Just look at the site itself and you'll know.
What window? There IS no window in the room!
I looked and a I saw a hole! I had never seen a hole before - playing for Hofstra University...
So, I grabbed my HEAD!
I don't wanna be the piece of glass.
...Have 'em open the doors for you at 6th Avenue. I'll fake it to you.
.
I LOVED those recordings.
