As a mother I am absolutely horrified at what happened to Nicholas Berg. I cannot even begin to imagine the pain that his parents are enduring. As a human being I am also horrified by the lack of tolerance that we demonstrate towards one another.
Until we have leaders who are courageous enough to put aside stubborn ignorance and use diplomacy, we will never experience true peace. That means President Bush, Osama bin Laden, and British Prime Minister Tony Blair all need to cool it and franly, grow up. The world's problems aren't all that complicated - they're basically about turf and disagreements about religion and race. Tolerance is the answer to these issues.
I hope that someday my son has as much compassion and courage as Nicholas Berg. I pray that the United States will be freed from the bondage of its corrupt government and intolerant citizens.
Amen! We are finally starting to reap what we have let be sown in our public schools, at every level, for the last 30 years. Peace is more than the absence of armed conflict, it's having an enemy that, no matter how much he hates you, fears you even more.

The broad's a dimwit and makes a great case for mandatory liscensing in order to procreate.
I'm a woman, but I could get behind this idea. Trouble is, there are just as many men who are every bit as stupid as Sharon Connolly. What are we going to do about them?

Not all that complicated - but people have been fighting wars and dying over them for millenia.
After the bombing of the World Trade Center in 1993 we were tolerant.
After the Khobar towers in 1996 we were tolerant.
After the bombing of our embassies in 1998 we were tolerant.
After the bombing of the USS Cole in 2000 we were tolerant.
Tolerance is the answer only if you wish to see more violent terrorist attacks.
