One of the few guys in the Majors right now who can pull it off (Clemens could, also - under ideal conditions).

Perfect game. 118 pitches, 90 strikes. One of the best pitching performances ever.

AWESOME!!!! Great job RJ! And to think the Tribe could have traded for him some years back....

(God made man, Sam Colt made men equal.)

remember that game with Mussina - last Red Sox got him.

Pitching in an era of small strikes zones and rules skewed towards hitting...his career is all the more remarkable.
One of the all time great pitchers.

(..where lieth those little things with the sort of raffia work base that has an attachment?)
To: Petronski
Next time he drives to the ballpark, writes down a list of names, hands it to the official scorer, and goes home.

(I actually did vote for the $87 billion before I voted against it)
To: Mmmike
WOW! Can't thank you enough for the heads-up.
To: InvisibleChurch
At 40, he's the oldest ever to pitch a perfect game!

I agree. Coming into the season, I would have thought Beckett had it, but he's been erratic this year. I think he's gettin' too much Leeann Tweeden ;)
The only other guy that crosses my mind is maybe Schilling, but I don't know if he has the stuff.

Great pics as always! Thank you hole_n_one (disappointed at the lack of artist's conceptions, however! :-) )

Awesome! Who's the oldest to throw an SHO? ISTR Phil Niekro did it at 45 or so...

QUICK TRIVIA: Who's the second oldest? (Hint - I saw the game on TV, and I'm younger than the big unit).
