Why would cnn send a report out and not let him know its from cnn? Not to mention the sender isnt from CNN and the recipient is in italy.

Depends on what your email client is. Should be able to find the option fairly easily though anyway.
I quite often get e-mail for someone with an address just one letter different than mine. That could be your explanation. I wouldn't sweat it. FReegards!
