Gay marrieds say they will not be monogamous
Boston Fishwrap ^ | 5/18/04 | Duncan

According to today's Boston Herald, here is what the very first recipient of a Provincetown MA same-sex marriage license has to say about marriage:

"[Jonathan Yarbrough] says the concept of forever is 'overrated' and that he, as a bisexual, and [his partner Cody] Rogahn, who is gay, have chosen to enjoy an open marriage. `I think it's possible to love more than one person and have more than one partner, not in the polygamist sense,' he said. `In our case, it is, we have, an open marriage...'"

Is adultery a punishable crime in MA?

Is ANYTHING a punishable crime in MA?
Well, OK, besides homeschooling...

I thought the whole point of marriage was monagomy.

In my opinion, one of the major points in gay marriage will be any benefits from the government that will accrue after such a "marriage".

Homosexuals allowing their obsession with sex to be the dominant constraint in their lives? That's weird. Here come the lawyers - just wait until some of these turn into custody battles between three or four sodomite men obtaining "rights" to a little boy child. And by the way, I guess now we need to understand there's nothing wrong with polygamy - or, by what grounds should Utah be forced to outlaw this?

don't trust those stats they're not as negative as they appear. In addition, adultery in heterosexual marriage still remains a no-no and is shunned. You certainly don't see many heterosexual couples talking about not being monogamous on their WEDDING DAY

Two wrongs don't make a right. It seems the same societal ills that have fueled our disastrous divorce rate rise are also fueling the gay marriage agenda. And given the comments of recent 'marrieds' re monogamy and open marriage, I expect they will work hard to catch up quickly. Just as adultery and fidelity issues cause breakups in hetero marriages, they will most assuredly cause breakups in gay marriages - how could they not? - even when the unions start out as 'open'.

It will now be possible to roll these couples into any old set of stastics on "marriage." I can already hear how x% of married couples don't have health insurance, suffer from STDs, have aids, etc... All of these stats, and then some, will be inflated due to the legitimization of this behavior in marriage.

"Is adultery a punishable crime in MA?"

Doubtful, but it won't be long before condemning homosexuality will be unlawful.

I guess they equate a license with societal acceptance. Wrong! Most of us still think their behavior is aberrant. -Floratina

Most of us do - now. But what of the teens debating it in schools ...

Homosexuals equate a license with forced societal acceptance of their unions that will gradually be fully accepted. In my opinions homosexual orientation is just one of those things. It's not normal, but I wouldn't use the word aberration. Many of us have something or other wrong with us. It is unfortunate for those who find themselves to be homosexual - their life may well be less fulfilled because of it. I expect such a person to pursue happiness, and couple responsibly.

Legal unions or marriages that carry rights and benefits are a completely different animal. I am strongly opposed to that. We need to educate our children about what marriage is really for and why it is a union of one man and one woman.

Place your bets........

Not worth betting, at the present time it is EVEN money for two guys and a sheep. Mary's wedding to FIDO is 6-5 and a slightly better bet.

Okay. What is the point of getting married if you already plan on not being committed?

From what I have read, the homosexuals are getting the three-day waiting period and STD/measles blood test waived, why I cannot fathom.

To rush them through and show a wonderful shining example to our 49 other states so the laws in those states can be changed as quickly as possible and we can have notion of homosexual marriage 'legalized' across the whole nation, sending our example further afield to other countries. (barf)

I wonder how many of those 'couples' would have been denied a license if they had gone through the regular channels and had to wait the three days and submit (oh, the horror) to medical tests. I wonder how many would have failed the tests? And I wonder how many of them had already obtained the health insurance and other legal papers to get themselves fully entrenched in the health and legal systems as legitimate 'couples' prior to even going to the courthouse or prior to hearing the bill legalizing it had passed?

What's the point (other than blowing $25 on a piece of paper)?

To diss Christianity.

What's the point? To pick your pocket. Insurance benefits, tax breaks, social security benefits, retirement benefits, etc.

And spit in your bible.

Gee, all the gay marriage advocates claimed that it would reduce promiscuity among gays. What gives?

"gay's are a biological mistake"

I disagree. They are not a biological mistake, they are depraved individuals

"a detriment to our country"

I agree that they have become a detriment to not only our country but to themselves as well.

And spit in your bible.

True. Can't wait until the lefties and media begin condemning Biblical teaching as hate speech and people approving Biblical teaching on the subject as committing a hate crime. It's inevitable.

I think they are already half way done with doing just that in Canada.
