Very sad.

BTW, he had served in the precursor to the NSA during WWII. As a mathematician, I think that's pretty cool.

RIP Mr Peepers

Actually, it was Wally Cox who played Mr. Peepers, but Randall was on that show.

Some years ago, Mr. Randall had been scheduled to serve as the Grand Marshall of a festival parade in our local county seat. When Mr. Randall discovered that a local high school ROTC unit would also be marching in the parade and that they would be carrying 1903 Springfield rifles, he gave the parade organizers an ultimatum: either the rifles are not in the parade or he was not in the parade. The rifles were in the parade.

I never thought much of the guy afterwards.

Nee Leonard Rosenberg of the Tulsa Rosenbergs. A good, long, productive, scandal-free life. We should all do as well.

From Fox News on April 20th:

Beloved actor, humanitarian and New York icon Tony Randall has had a rough winter. He'd already been in the hospital for eight weeks when he celebrated his 83rd birthday on February 26. He's still there now.

Randall went into the hospital on December 21, 2003 for a triple bypass. The operation was successful, but it left Randall with a severe case of pneumonia.

The pneumonia spread, became more difficult to treat, and culminated in affecting his eating. Since then he's been on IV fluids, working with a physical therapist to get his strength back and just now starting to eat solid foods again.

Both Felix's are gone, two of the 3 Oscars are gone, I believe the only one left from the Broadway, Movie and TV Series is Jack Klugman.
