So long the methods used to fight terrorism are restricted to those approved by the Geneva Convention and US public opinion, there will never be peace in Iraq.

You erred by not putting that in bold.

I make that comment because there are RULES OF WAR defined by the Geneva Conventions. TERRORISTS ARE CHOOSING NOT TO PLAY BY THOSE RULES

That being the case, we MUST NOT PLAY BY THEM EITHER.

We will, and should, play by rules that are not averse to our cultural mores, but there is NO REASON to play by the "rules of war" with an enemy who is willfully shunning such rules.

Frankly, we must use all the psy-ops we need to, taking advantage of all the chinks that their "religion" or "culture" give us. This includes pig fat, and anything else that can come in handy. The Department of Defense and our president has not yet come to this conclusion, and it is a difficult question to face, but that conclusion will be reached eventually.
