Franklen did just that, and he did it by choice, not duty.
I end up hating these people less when I meet them personnaly, I guess, i see a human being and not just a face or arguement that I wish I was there to take apart.
Al is to be thanked for what he did going to the troops, but he was not the smarter one at the debate. The favoritism of the camera crew, the keeping of Annie's microphone volume lower, the placing of the microphone in front of her face if she pulled it in to speak louder and how it blocked her face on the tv screen behind her....
Yeah, and in Hartford for goodness sake. Bless her heart, if he did kick her rear, she asked for it.
It startd off with a question to Ann on what she would least lke to talk about or reveal about herself.

I understand your comments about meeting someone like him in person, but I don't buy the liberal screed about how they can claim "We support the troops, but not the War." That's a cop out and they know it. That's like someone supporting the Yankee's but not the game of baseball or the Yankee's winning the World Series. The Liberals had their chance to vote against the Iraq War and they came up way short. We are at war now and they still refuse to accept the fact that they lost the Vote in the Senate to give President Bush the authority to wage war against Iraq if they didn't comply with the UN Resolutions, but much like the 2000 election results, they refuse to acknowledge the fact that they lost the Vote
Franken finds something silly and trivial -- was Lott "booed off the stage" at the Wellstone ceremony? -- and then strikes the "I demand an answer" pose. (A favorite tactic of Hillary, by the way.) The fact that the trick question is irrelevant (Lott was indeed booed at the ceremony, but "off the stage" is just rhetoric) is lost on the audience. Attempts to clarify the point are me by the antagonist with the accusation that "you're dodging the question" and the renewed demand: "Yes or no?"
When someone frequently interrupts (as Franken does), it is the task of the moderator to stop the debate and DEMAND an end to the interruptions.
Interrupting and hogging the spotlight are bulldozer tactics. If someone starts that stuff, amd the moderator refuses to do his job, the thing to do is wait until they're pause for breath and say:
"Are you finished? Are you going to interrupt me and start yammering again, or do I get to say something here? ...
"I have never been treated so rudely in my life. I accepted an invitation to a debate, and instead of a debate, I am just supposed to sit here while you lecture, and the minute I open my mouth, you interrupt and insult me. You never wanted a debate. You are a liar, and you can lecture by yourself if you want to, but I refuse to continue to participate in this two-bit dog-and-pony show."
And then you walk out.
Point well taken. However...Remember that GIF with the goldfish in a blender? And you had a choice to just spin it around slowly?
I picture Al Franken and Michael Moore in that blender...I just HAVE to push that ultra fast button!

This wasn't a 'debate' per se. More like a left-wing rally. Ann spoke the truth but got shouted down. She's a brave lady for wading into that mess.
What I don't get is how the libs get away with coddling the islamo-fascists. The delusional fools believe they hold the moral high ground. Tragic that even the miserable fate of Nick Berg hasn't opened their eyes.
I'll give Ann Coulter credit, she isn't afraid of debating anyone, she just has a hard time shouting them down

You should check out Dinesh D'Souzah's book, Letters to a Young Conservative. He and Laura Ingraham decided to fight back at Princeton using unconventional methods, and it worked. Instead of using shout down tactics, they performed stunts that forced the administration to acknowledge their own hypocracy. The only one I remembered was them scheduling a hearing with the student council, or something similar, to request funding for a new club - Students for Beastiality. After promptly being denied they forced a debate on their inconsistincies. They deflected the attention off of what they were saying and onto the liberals.
Moderator: Mr Franken how has being a homosexual effected your political views?
Franken: I'm not a homosexual!
Moderator: Suuuuuure you're not a homosexual.

Did Franken mention whether he got a paycheck today from Air America?
