This new forum setup just sucks...Why do people always ruin a good thing? I used to like coming here, now its like navigating some bloatware site. Is there a reason for this?

To be specific Junior there was a break down page of topics on entering before, New posts, News, and others. For those of us that did not have the time to navigate around it was a blessing. The opening page was based more for getting where you want to be faster, it was very useful to see what topics you wanted to read quickly. That way I could have skipped this one had I wanted to or read it and flamed it like most that did read it. Its funny, getting flamed for flaming, pot calling the kettle black sorta thing. Well, I hope I did'nt cause any aneurysms.. lol

OK, here it is, when I type the URL Freerepublic.com I was getting to this link http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/browse . I see now it was redirecting from the regular opening page. Thanks to those that helped, and for you that didn't, well, you know ;)

And hence having the search results page not having a "post" link is a constant aggravation, and makes little sense.

I haven't read through the whole thread, so perhaps this has already been addressed. I had the same gripe, but someone explained to me that the search results return from all the forums, and so a link to posting from that page wouldn't be forum specific. It would actually require several different post links to get your story in the correct forum.

I seldom go onto the main page, having a link directly to the News forum, so I hadn't seen the changes. Don't know why anyone would flame you over this.

Thanx Junior, well, it certainly pointed out some people I would like to talk to in person to see if their response would be the same face to face. The text of my post was pretty juvenile but all the same some responses were also. If I truly offended anyone I apologize, well, maybe. :)

Yes Publius6961, the redirect may be a setting I changed in options. Although I am not sure why it happens whether I am logged on or not. I clean the system pretty frequently and am at a loss as to where the redirect is coming from. Once I hit the Free Republic banner it gets me to their home page though.
