CBS News: Enemy Of The State

Ed Mlynar - Omega Staff Writer
Shortly after the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor, they began their next wave of attacks on the United States. It wasnt the type of attack that was expected. It did not involve troops and military equipment. It involved small hot air balloons carrying 33 pounds worth of explosives.
Approximately 5,000 of these balloons were sent across the Pacific to the American homeland. They caused a few forest fires in the mid-west. One hit a power plant near Los Alamos, almost causing the first nuclear meltdown and an end to the atomic bomb research that was happening there. One balloon even made it as far as Detroit, Michigan.
There are only three recorded deaths from these balloons. A woman and her two young children died when one of the devices landed in their back yard.
It is amazing that any of these balloons made it over the Pacific Ocean at all. But there is something even more amazing than that.
No news outlet in the United States published anything about these balloons. In fact, most Americans were ignorant of their existence until well after the war was over.
Try to imagine what would have happened if the Japanese found out that their bomb-balloons, which has to be the cheapest intercontinental weapons ever devised, were actually effective. If they knew the balloons were making it across the ocean, the war would have been much different.
There would have been hundred of thousands of balloons sent. The terrorizing effects on the homeland would have been devastating. The troops fighting the Japanese would have been demoralized, wondering if a balloon was going to drop on their family. The will to fight would have been completely destroyed.
It was not a matter of censorship. No news outlet cried out about violations of the First Amendment when they were asked not to print stories about these balloons. It was a sense of responsibility that kept them from not publishing any stories about bombs dropping from the sky. They simply had to ask themselves the following question:
Who does it serve to publish the story?
Fast-forward to 2004. America is in ideological struggle against an enemy who believes that death will send them to paradise and that the American way of life is forbidden by their god. They know that they cannot defeat America on a conventional battlefield so they employ every other type of warfare they can, ranging from propaganda to terrorism to psychological warfare.
Pictures of Americans abusing military prisoners are sent to CBS producers and they have a decision to make. Should they publish the pictures or not?
If there was any sense of responsibility on the part of the producers, the answer should have been clear. However, CBS has never been known for their sense of responsibility.
They could have run a story about seven soldiers who had charges brought up against them for abusing Iraqi prisoners. A few isolated cases. No pictures were needed. It could have been a story about America serving justice by not tolerating their our own troops acting in the same manner as the enemy.
They could have sent the pictures to the Department of Defense with the message "we, the press, are watching so you had better stop this". The purpose of the press is to be the watch dog of the government, not the snitch.
But instead, the producers at CBS decided to declare war on the United States and published the pictures. They asked the question "who does this serve" and the answer was themselves.
When an enemy of the United States receives help from other countries or organizations, those other countries and organizations are referred to as "allies of the enemy" or, more accurately, an enemy of the United States.
CBS can be described in no other way.
On Tuesday, May 11, Nick Berg was beheaded in front of the camera due to the reports of prisoner abuse by American troops. Another, and perhaps more accurate way of phrasing it is that Nick Berg was murdered because of CBS news.
Dont think that CBS has learned about journalistic responsibility. Dont think for a minute that they are done inciting our enemy into murdering more Americans.
CBS plans to air an American soldiers video diary which has a soldier describing how much she doesnt care for the Iraqi prisoners. What other purpose can this story serve than to incite our enemy?
How many Americans are going to die at the hands of CBS producers?
There is an old saying that states the enemy of my enemy is my friend. Islamic terrorists around the world have found a friend with CBS as they both have the same enemy: American citizens.
Paul describes these people perfectly in his second letter to Timothy as "treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit" (2 Tim 3:3). He also provides sound advice on what to do when we come across people like this.
"Avoid such people."
It is time that Americans start avoiding CBS.

Hey Nancy -- what's the matter?
Are your panties scrunched up your crack?
Thanks for the link. I see nothing contradictory in the article and your link. But, maybe it's just me.
Maybe I am out of touch with today's lingo, but what is a "goy"?
LOL! Always the contrarian aren't you, even though you probably have to take a half hour shower after defending CBS.
The American Heritage® Dictionary of the English Language: Fourth Edition. 2000.
goy
PRONUNCIATION: goi
NOUN: Inflected forms: pl. goy·im (goim) or goys
Offensive Used as a disparaging term for one who is not a Jew.
ETYMOLOGY: Yiddish, from Hebrew gôy, Jew ignorant of the Jewish religion, non-Jew. See gwy in Appendix II.
OTHER FORMS: goyish ADJECTIVE
By the way, I mentioned that I was a goy, because I did not want to take down, or in anyway degrade, the most excellent Jewish posters on this forum with me. I wish to go down alone.
What is a goy?? I guess it is less than a guy, as you seem to be, Go back to the demoncrapt dfu, we don't need any goys here.
Gotcha!
Well at least you don't fudge or obfuscate your opinion. Keep after me. It does a body good.
I always tune in. The quality of propaganda is fascinating. Leni Riefenstahl has nothing on CBS Evening News.
All propaganda is an enemy of freedom. One-way information cannot be challenged.
The Bush-Cheney fan club seems to be suffering certain internal tensions. LOL.
An you see nothing wrong with Nick Berg getting his head chopped off because CBS released the pictures during ratings week ?
