"This really is starting to look like "just about sex"."

That is so hilarious! This shall now be the Republican mantra - "After all, it's only about sex..."

"Or perhaps "The Lynndie Hop"?"

Did anyone see Back to School with Rodney Dangerfield? Don't you remember he was the one that did the "triple lindie."

they look like pretty large panties, maybe Hillary left them there on her trip." ROFL.

That's pretty funny! Come to think about it, I'll bet they could get lots of info from the terrorists if they let Hilary loose on them.

long prison sentence. - I have to disagree with that, a long prison term for what? sophomoric pranks? embarrassing to the country yes but worthy of time in prison, no way.

ANYONE involved--male, female, enlisted, officer, animal, vegetable, mineral--in abusing or humiliating these prisoners and violating the Geneva standards should, must, be punished. I have NEVER suggested any differently.

So far, I have only SEEN evidence of Ms. England's depravity, so that is all I have commented on. The men involved are JUST as depraved and JUST as culpable; but I haven't seen evidence yet, so I simply haven't commented. It just drives me nuts hearing Ms. England blame her deviance on her superiors, so I feel compelled to speak out against it.

Where there's smoke there's fire, makes you wonder what else is going on in our beloved country that most of us hope just isn't there. As the decline accelerates and there is no firm attempt to stop it, we're going to have to make some heavy personal decisions. Rome took around a thousand years to rise/decline, hi-tech America? It's on the slope and at the bottom is a cesspool.

"Didn't any of you see how many MEN were involved in the prison scandal?? Why were THEY allowed to guard at the prison?? "

Some of them, with histories of violence, shouldn't have been guarding prisioners. Female MPs shouldn't be guarding male detainees/prisoners -- period.

No matter the depravity of the men involved, the scandal would not have the same character were it not for the involvement of the female participant(s). Who should not have been placed in that position. For the good of all. If the scandal had happened without any female MPs, it should have been prosecuted. Yet common sense informs us that female MPs should not be involved with male prisioners . . .

"Why have female guards in a male prison?"

These types of scandals have been known to happen anywhere women break into traditionally male occupations, like police, fire, and paramedics. The scandals still go on, but only occasionally do they get such widespread attention.

a friend of disgraced reservist Lynndie England lashed out in her defense yesterday, saying tapes of her having sex in the prison were personal to her and the boyfriend with whom she is "in love."

This is their defense.

>>If the women are whores, then what are the men who sleep with them, saints??

If the men can't keep their unit in their pants, then who's fault is that? No one FORCES men to sleep with a whore. Why aren't they castigated for their role in the sex act with a whore? Oh right, I remember now, because it's always the woman's fault when a man has sex with her.

It's always the mistress's fault when a married man has an affair with her. Nevermind that it was HE who made the Marriage Vow, not the mistress... and it is HE who is breaking those vows, not the mistress. But blame the woman, because the man can't possibly be held responsible for what he does with his own penis.<<

Is that what I said? WOW! Here I thought I said that having women who are whores on base and available to the unprincipled men was the problem.

I guess, the next time I'll have to write an essay to cover every area of possible confusion.

(I am sorry your experiences with men have not been better.)

"Our command would have slammed us," Sivits said.

This is an enormously important statement because it means one of the participants is ready to refute the claims of other participants that higher ups ordered the treatment. Once accused parties start testifying against each other the prosecution's job becomes much easier and the truth is much more likely to emerge.

I deplore Sivits' actions. Allegedly he's one of the people who took the photos. But I commend him for rejecting the self-serving, and, to my mind, implausible statements that other of his co-defendents are making in order to shift blame from themselves and up the chain of command.

My best friend was an MP, he never told me about all sex they got.

As a matter of fact, he complained he couldn't attend to the soiled doves, because of his job.

He and a dog guarded the dump, where we don't/didn't have the evil thinges in Korea.

The guys that worked in the Hawk Btry would complain bitterly about the women getting out of night, weekend, and holiday duty by screwing their NCOs.

That was the source of much bitterness in my unit as well, and the reason why I never hung around the barracks on weekends or holidays. In fact, my reputation for cutting out as soon as possible led to the duty roster being posted on time.

The Bde HQ barracks had concertina wire on the fire escapes to keep the guys out of the women's area.

Concertina wire? Hell, in my barracks in Darmstadt there were women directly across the hall and in the room next door!

How will this Army of volunteer reservists fight, if we ever have to face a brutal and locally superior army?

Say a repeat of June 1950 in Korea?
