One coincidence? Maybe. Seven, nine, ten? No way.

It seems you mean well, I appreciate that. But Berg was setting up e-mail accounts; that suggests a little PC know how. I accept your apology in advance.

Sharing an e-mail account and a password is an excellent way to send messages without any chance that they will be intercepted. The message never leaves the original server. Nobody would ever know that you were communicating with anyone but yourself. So you send a message to yourself and the other guy with the password gets it. Simple and untraceable e-mails. The only way that the e-mails could be traced is if the FBI happend to search both users computers. Thus even though the FBI had the e-mails from Mossoui's computer, they could not know where they came from unless they searched the sender's computer. In this case it appears they searched one of Berg's computers and found the link. Coincidence? not likely.

Great point.....untraceable e-mail.

I just checked and was told by someone that works on the system the password would not store in your computer. You have to stand on your head to get in the system! It is always going down as well.

OU has their own system and it is hard to get into most of the time! I can use the OU system because it is on this computer as I use it for the library but if you check email you have to log into it separately.

I mean, the way he 'collapsed' on the front yard for all the press to record was too staged for me.

Exactly what I was thinking. Done for the cameras...

Nothing surprises me about any of this. When I saw that poor man break down, I almost cried. I am not kidding. Recent events are making me think twice about this person.

You can go back to about 600 or 700 and get up to speed fast.

The father was very emotional, I think he said what he meant to say, but I could be wrong. It was Rick Leventhal interviewing, I think, and he immediately caught it. Split second catch.

Who knows? I don't.

Yes, no matter what took Nick Berg to Iraq, NOBODY deserves to die that way. Except maybe Saddam, Osama, etc.

It's been on the local new here in Philly that he spent time in Africa ... friends of the Berg's say he was just adventurous

"He had a short haircut, like the Marines, and he was well-built,"

Odd that he can grow a full beard that quickly. And a dark one to boot when he has blond hair.

I think that quote may be wrongly attributed to his father. The actual quote is:

"The real losers are the Iraqis. They killed their best friend. They just didn't know it," said Skip Best.

See http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml?xml=/news/2004/05/13/wtort113.xml for reference.

As you can see it was a friend of the families that stated that-not his father.

Maybe we should start tracking Actual documented facts and their references and another group of speculated facts. Rumors can take off too easily and the "telephne game effect" can take over. Any suggestions?

"Do his duty?"

What a strange turn of phrase for someone putting up towers. OTOH, maybe he felt his duty was to help Iraq & the U.S. in any way that he could.

So this kid was in Kenya, where Al-Qaeda bombed our embassy in 1998, in school at OU in 1999/2000 around the same time as Moussoui (who bought Nick's computer and used his email address), and worked at the Abu Ghraib prison on a tower around the time of the insurgent mortar attacks there?!

His dad is a known ANSWER spokeman, and his uncle by marriage is an Iraqi who lives in Mosul?!

Most interesting. Thanks for the ping.

Can we verify these facts? Good grief, next somebody will be telling me that the kid "worked" in Uganda...

Or camp bunkmate with John Walker Lind?

Nick Berg is starting to sound like Forrest Gump--always in the right place at the right time--until the very end.
