Don't worry, I'm sure "Famous But Incompetent" is hard on the case as we speak, unraveling all these leads.

Did it strike you as an honest error when giving the interview, or was it an inadvertent slip of the tongue?

Or could you get a sense of it?

He was apparently well known in his trade and could quickly establish his expertise.

He was only 26 --- and apparently was sharing his email account with an Arab just 2 years ago --- so he would likely have still been in college then --- but it wouldn't be difficult to make your foreigner connections in college --- with students coming over here to gain some technical expertise --- even if the Arabs he met didn't know much about email accounts, they might have been impressed with his willingness to help them, show them the ropes.

don't laugh, alot of non PC-techies would do that. Just remove their personal files, and not realize they also have other stuff all over the machine.

You are right, who knows? These barbarians have no rhyme or reason as to why they do what they do, they are bloodthirsty heathens who think God is just like them...and they call us the infidels!

His business could have consisted of 1000 business cards, or not even that.

Now what are the chances that a tower structure company that did international business would not have a web site?

Wasn't Berg suppose to have been a wiz with computers and even once had a business working with computers?

Hmm. Almost the same wording from a friend of Nicks as the father used. Do all these people really equate "Iraqi's" with "al Qaeda"? Most people make a basic distinction between the two.....

Yes, they both were playing fast a loose with the term "Iraqi". You would think that would know the difference between Al Qaeda and the general population of Iraq.

Sharing an e-mail account and a password is an excellent way to send messages without any chance that they will be intercepted. The message never leaves the original server. Nobody would ever know that you were communicating with anyone but yourself. So you send a message to yourself and the other guy with the password gets it. Simple and untraceable e-mails. The only way that the e-mails could be traced is if the FBI happend to search both users computers. Thus even though the FBI had the e-mails from Mossoui's computer, they could not know where they came from unless they searched the sender's computer. In this case it appears they searched one of Berg's computers and found the link.

Coincidence? not likely.

The way the OU system works, you cannot store your password. You go to a page and it asks you to log in everytime! Just did it to check it out and you cannot store the password.

I guess with the password and Moussaoui, the Iraqi uncle, the odd jobs in Iraqi communications, his possible employers and acquaintances, his father's association with ANSWER, and the frequent trips, it would be more a surprise if the FBI wasn't keeping tabs on him.
could it also not read "he was one of them, and at the last moment they double crossed him".

Having no more evidence at this point, I'd say this is the most likely and most obvious hypothesis that should be pursued in search of the truth. Way too many "coincidences." [Things are seldom more complex than what they appear after scratching the first layer below the surface] Deals w the devil never play out.

It's contagious ;-)

You did bring up a good point about Mr. Berg. He is a radical's radical. Who knows, maybe his son decided to go to Iraq to make his dad proud of him? Maybe there's a darker motive. What a bloody shame...

Does he have any REAL references? These are they type of questions that need to be asked.

Yes and No...His company Prometheus Towers DID NOT have a website...But he was known to an extent in the 'industry'.

If you go to the Yahoo Message board 'Tower Pro', there is one poster that details work he did with Nick...and If you search the news wires photo banks you will find a couple of pictures of him related to his industry.

Two are at a trade show, one is him fixing what looks like some sort of electrical panel. He is wearing climbing gear.

The fact is that his company was probably more of a write off channel... or somthing else...

What kind of guy who has a serious business is 'chipping wells' in Uganda and 'making mud bricks in Ghana...and the next thing he is a freelance high-tower guy gallivanting around Iraq...

About Iraq ... I am taking photos - where allowed," he wrote during his trip in January. "It's actually pretty sad - I just got off one of two 320 meter monster towers in Abu Ghraib (also home to the main political prison) which use[d] to support most of Baghdad area's VHF and UHF. Both have been badly looted. ...

I was just beginning to wonder if Berg had gotten anywhere close to Abu Ghraib.

That's why I say a LARGE part, smart guy! They are taking over in formerly non-muslim countries very quickly.

Coincidence? not likely.

I agree with you completely. Just like they said Moussoui bought Berg's computer -- coincidences like this I do not believe in since Berg only stayed for one semester and left about the time Moussoui did! What are the chances of that happening with two strangers. Next we will here that they met at the Huffman Fitness Center since Moussoui used to go there to work out! Anybody know where Berg lived in Norman?

The press just seemed to skim right over that.

As the press has skimmed right over this whole story...and, straight back to the Panty Party at Abu Ghraib; it's really all they can focus on.

I went to ABCNEWS.COM this afternoon...there was 1 story (link) on the Nick Berg situation. There was 8 (EIGHT) stories (links) ABOVE the Nick Berg story (link).

The media isn't touching this with a 10 foot pole. By even acknowledging the barbarism of our enemy, it will be enough for the American people to support our efforts...REGARDLESS of whether Nick Berg was an idealistic young man trying to help, a CIA operative, or an Al Qaeda turncoat.

No matter the situation turns out to be, it shows how truly ruthless our enemy is...and the American media, the DNC, John F'n Kerry, and the sot Ted Kennedy can't have that.

Remeber the Rushism: Whatever is good for America, is not good for the demoSCUM; whatever is bad for America, is good for the demoSCUM.

Simple as that.

You mean I can catch the next flight to Baghdad and try to get work????

Was listening earlier to Col. Hunt talking with Tony Snow, the Col. said there are 40,000 contractors in Iraq now, helping to get the country back up on its feet.

Maybe they could use one more. Kind of a risky place to work though.

The Col. said he thought they ought to be made to sign a waiver saying they've been told how dangerous it is. He also said many of the contractors are carrying guns, and contrators are the ones guarding Paul Bremmer.

Watching the video...has kept me angry for over 2 days.

NO ONE...deserves to die that way.

All the rest of the speculation is junk.

He slipped badly when he blurted out the truth: "They killed their best friend."

Yes --- I think so --- he sounds far too sympathetic to those who cut off his own son's head --- yet he's certainly capable of lashing out --- but strangely he lashes out at Bush and Rumsfield --- and his son wasn't even in the military or over there except to be there on his own.
