Wow!
Where are the other photos?
I think the likelihood that a young man who had a slight connection to the 20th 9/11 hijacker and was then butchered by Al Qaeda is slim. Not impossible, but slim.
Given his father's remarks, I'd say there is more to this story than we are being told.
My son's never been in scouting, but he drools over the Big 5 ads featuring military surplus rifles. I think perhaps that Nick was conditioned from an early age by his father. It happens, you know...
I don't remember, do I have to do the work for everyone else on this thread?
The photos are out there, maybe even on one of these threads, maybe even this one. But I'm not going to do the legwork on it.
Foxnews had them, I know that.
Do you think (as I do) that he was trying to freelance as a walk on agent?
Or did he think he was "delivering a communique from INT'L ANSWER to Al Queda?" Daddy: "They killed their best friend."
Actually I read something about his sister yesterday - here on FR, and it wasn't a post it was an article. I'm trying to remember which one. It said something about his sister "now dead" and her husband who now lived in Iraq and how much Berg enjoyed visiting him and how he was "concerned." I'll try and find it.
Wait - maybe I misunderstood. Would the "dead sister" be Michael's sister and not Nick's? If so, never mind. I was confused ;)
It's my fault, Travis. I raised the specter on post 376. My misperception came from a Group of Images a Freeper posted widely on the forum yesterday that put the pictures of Berg together with the picture of the dead guy on the bridge.
It's him.
Larry Johnson....he's so anti-Bush now isn't he?? What's his story?
Any ONE of those bizarre coinkydinks could be explained away. But when they just keep lining up....one after another....
You have to admit it's just a *little bit* unusual.
I don't know anything about him except for his previous position and his feelings and statements about the OKC bombing.
No problemo.
That's another thing. Okay, maybe the victim had street clothes on underneath that jumpsuit. The orange "gitmo" jumpsuit was just a message.
Maybe two men were murdered, instead of just one. Who knows when dealing with fanatic terrorists. Anyone can be forced to recite names, confessions, etc. We all should know that by now. We need to level that rathole.
I should have added: He is so convinced of an Iraqi connection to the OKC bombing, perhaps he's mad that Bush didn't follow up on the investigation many were demanding. Also, given Bush's interest in Saddam and Iraq, I'm sure he originally fully expected that the administration would re-open the investigation and demand answers.
I'll tell you this - it makes me furious at the government and I'm disappointed the Bush administration DIDN'T re-open the investigation.
Daddy: "They killed their best friend."
No matter how you want to try to explain that away, it seems nearly impossible to me. How is it possible that a father would use that phrase in connection w/people who sawed their son's head off? It is beyond strange, and very much worthy of the term red flag.
I'd say his father's remarks were typical of someone who cannot openly condemn the enemy but yet try to get the enemy to "understand" his departed son.
Sometimes a coincidence is a coincidence. Besides, a slight connection is not a big deal. Many people had slight connections to historical events.
IF david Horowitz is murdered by black radicals, does his previous EXTENSIVE connection to the Black Panthers mean a thing?
If David Horowitz gets murdered by Black radicals, I would expect a full investigation given how much they HATE him for telling the world what they are all about.
I agree that sometimes a connection is merely that. However, cops don't believe in coincidences for a reason and I'm suspicious as well. That's all - suspicious.
Actually, not really.
I don't know when his aunt died, but what if his uncle-in-law was still in Oklahoma before moving back to Mosul?
OK, so that would establish an interest in Iraq when we occupy it. Does that mean Bush invaded to sate Nick Berg's curiosity?
No, so the only REAL coincidence is the Moussaoui connection. And since the FBI didn't even bother to detain Berg after 9/11, I'd say it's not likely there was anything to it.
