Wow!
You mean I can catch the next flight to Baghdad and try to get work????
You got that right. What a world...
Another thing that is sort of strange how long the screaming of "Berg" after he would have been physiologically unable.
The video I saw had him screaming before they even beheaded him. While he was just sitting there, oblivious (my take - he had no idea what was coming).

My apologies. You're right, it is increasingly difficult though I try to keep them straight. Thanks for catching it.
Interesting hypothesis.
Prairie
I will hear that scream until the day I die.
But good. Very Good.
It's the kind of cover that most people would not question. If someone were to come up to your vehicle and ask you what you are doing, you could just say that you were taking a transmission reading and show him some equipment. It also gives you a cover for hauling around a lot of sensitive communications equipment. The kind that could be used communicate things like.... troop location.
It also gives you cover to climb just about any transmission tower to covertly install some of that sensitive equipment.
Interesting. Is anyone outside of Free Republic asking these questions?
No one is trashing the victim. Maybe we're upset at how Nick's father is using his horrible death as a political statement. I don't understand that, and I don't think many of us here understand it either. Most people would have to be sedated to get through this.
I haven't changed much since my teen years. A high school classmate recognized me when I took my daughter to school one day. We graduated 25 yrs ago. I also remembered her. The only thing that changed was graying hair and a few lines on both of us.
Look, when I saw that picture of Nick, I thought how could a beefy, blond haired guy turn into a dark haired man with a slighter build? I'm sorry if what I'm saying is offensive to you. I don't mean to be. How do you explain this weird coincidence of being aquainted with Moussoui? Is that tinfoil?
Not true about the son .. according to people who FOX has interviewed here and in Iraq, Nick was a strong supporter of Bush. It was the father who supported the left .. and there are reports that they disagreed about it a lot.
I read that somewhere too.
You have to separate the mumbling ranting pretending to be prayer. Then when Berg get pulls down he starts screaming and continues after his layrnx and trachea would have been filled with blood and severed. There would have been gurgling not screaming from the casualty.
Get some facts right.
1) his sister? His paternal AUNT was deceased. The man she married was in Mosul. Do you know when he went back? I don't.
2)I went to Michigan and bailed out. I'm a young idiot. Some of us who don't have a sense of purpose or wanderlust or some other joy often bail out and move on. Some of us do it over and over.
3)As I explained earlier, I moved from the DC area just before 9/11. My mother has seen Middle Eastern men on a plane, a year before I think. What if one of them had used her password to send an email? Would I then be a terrorist?
4)Again, no sister at all in IRaq. Only his uncle-in-law.
That's NOT Berg's body on the bridge!!!!
Michael Berg says the killers did not have a better friend. That's about as blatant a tell as there is.
The idea this man was engaged with the enemy and then became an object of their rage after the situation deteriorated sounds about right. The father blames Bush for provoking the current violence vis a vis closing down Al Sadr's paper and arresting his right hand man, getting into a fight in Fallujah where some security people are brutalized.
The reprisals directed at Fallujah, now that may be the key. If Al Zwaqri is holed up in Fallujah, the Marines thrust into that safe zone probably infuriated him and his clan. Hence the decision to kill their buddy.
But really, as it stands, who the hell knows.

Put aside the Moussaoui thing for a minute. I knew a guy in HS who was Afghani, and while I don't think he'd ever participate in terrorism, he said a few questionable things regarding Israel. Years later if he turns up as a terrorist, will we then be looking at me if I get killed in a terrorist bombing in the US?
But as for appearance, did you ever think that they know his voice? That friends and family know his voice? Look at the mouth.
Again, I said look at the OTHER photos. People are fixated on his bald photo with glasses, check the OTHER photos and THEN compare.
Don't panic we haven't gone into conspiracy mode yet.
:)
Is that what he said?
He said it sounds like to me "I'm sure he saw the good in his captors until a few seconds before they killed him. They didn't know what they were doing, he was their best friend."
Continued was that "he was there to help rebuild Iraq" and some other stuff.
Sounds like a VERY poorly phrased sentiment about his son being a good person.
WAY too many people are overblowing that statement and when more comes out that confirms he was not a terrorist sympathizer, you guys are going to have some apologies to make.
