The photographs purporting to show British soldiers urinating on an Iraqi prisoner are fakes, an inquiry has decided.
Defence minister Adam Ingram was set to reveal that the images showing a hooded "victim" were actually taken in northern England.
Army investigators are understood to have identified the four-tonne Bedford lorry in which the pictures were taken and tracked it down to a barracks in Preston, rather than Basra.
The pictures - apparently showing a man being beaten, kicked and hit with a rifle butt - caused worldwide outrage after they were published in the antiwar Daily Mirror.

I don't really know why anyone calls the British presses "newspapers" anymore. For the most part, they're nothing but tabloid rags.

The Mirror knew the photos were fake when they printed them. It just shows how twisted and pathetic liberalism has become.
In the eyes of a liberal reality is all a matter of perception. Its kinda like their feelings on winning or losing. Calling someone a winner suggests that there is a loser and we can't have that.
All i know is that we didn't have T ball when i was a kid, we threw baseballs at each other. Sometimes we even got hurt.

Now that they've been revealed to be a deliberate hoax, time to prosecute for treason:
Charge the fit-up fakers with treason (re: Daily Mirror's fake UK Iraqi POW photos)
Who needs al-Jazeera when youve got the Guardian and the BBC? In the Second World War we were only up against Lord Haw Haw and the might of Nazi Germany. These days weve got morale being undermined 24/7.
England hanged Lord Haw Haw for his Nazi propaganda broadcasts (convicted of treason). There has been some speculation that he would not have been executed if he had been tried in America (he was American by birth). Axis Sally was also convicted of treason but eventually was released from prison and became an American schoolteacher.

As far as Arabs are concerned, faker or not, anything that portrays them as "victims" of "crusader aggression" must be "true". In their culture, the "truth" is just what you can make the other guy believe. This all goes back to the drug-induced utter nonsense mohammad & pals wrote in the koran.

This also means that photo editors aren't just for fun anymore. These pics were seriously intended to promote a lie.
Does anyone remember that thread a few months back with the (fake) pic of Kerry and Anton LaVey? That photo was also attempting to be taken seriously. That photo fit the ideology of Freepers. How did Freepers respond? By questioning, examining and analyzing until, after ten or fifteen minutes, we conclusively proved it was a fake, and dropped the matter.
Not so the socialists. In the exact same situation, they go nuts, milking the photog-Lie for everything they can get. To them a lie is good if it fits their plan. To us, a lie is bad, period.

When I was a kid in high school in the seventies, we had an underground newspaper that some of the students published. It was printed on yellow paper and titled "The Yellow Journal" It had all sorts of obnoxious crap in it and it was the subject of a minor manhunt.

So two large newspapers (and I think several television stations) used fake photos to advance their political line. That's not counting the Arab media. I think the dictionary would call that propaganda, not news. If this had been another Hollywierd celebrity being falsely maligned in this fashion, the media perps would have had their socks sued off 'em. If only the Defense Dept. could do the same!

This and the Boston Globe printing pictures from a gay porno website claiming they're from Abu-Graib. The "media-elite" has truly sunk to a new low. Perhaps we need to start slapping warning labels on daily newspapers the way they do on rock music and cigarettes--"Warning: Content may be unsuitable for young readers and those that value the truth."

Watching FOX and friends this morning i got the impression that the photos viewed by senators really weren't worse than what we've allready seen. It sounds to me like the worst "abuse" was shoving a glow stick up a prisoners butt. My wife preforms worse "tourtures" than that every day at the hospital.
It sounds like there was no rape of prisoners by either Brittish or American soldiers. And the only photos of sex are those taken of sex between soldiers.

I am unaware of the Kerry-LeVay photo. I AM aware of a hoaxed Kerry-Fonda photo that the press then proceded to use to call into question ANY images of Kerry with Fonda.
I am also aware that the Kerry-Fonda fake never was published in print. Unlike the various fake Iraqi POW abuse photos.
The media also did not mention that while the photo likely originated at FR, it was not permitted to be posted here, all usages of it were promptly deleted, and we quickly learned which were the real and which were the fake images.
Snopes has TWO threads, one for the real photo and one for the fake (and they likely didn't have to pay Corbis for the use of the copyrighted images).
Ask the liberals at Snopes.com how many threads they will run on the various fake Iraqi POW photos.
