It is true that to take over the Senate the Democrats would have to win three of the five Southern seats and win all of the other seats where they have a shot.
I remember calling Sen. Bob Kasten (R-WI) in 1986 to congratulate him on his re-election. He said, "I'm almost sorry I'm coming back. You could not have a worse situation...Reagan still in office and the Democrats controlling the Senate. Nothing will get accomplished." Kasten was right. Reagan's last two years were spent on the defensive about Iran Contra and various other manufactured scandals. No significant legislation made it through Congress.

A Democrat Senate would block most measures passed by the House and would spend its time investigating Bush. He will be Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces.
That is ALL that matters in this election.

What lunacy: "Nothing got done in Reagan's second term." WE WON THE COLD WAR in Reagan's second term: the INF treaty, the Soviets pulled out of Afghanistan; Hungary folled up its part of the "Iron Curtain."
Weyrich is getting really strange these days. Too many over the counter meds?

I hope you're not serious. Have you forgotten about Supreme Court appointments? The control of all committees? The media status given to the "Majority Leader"? Shall I go on?

Wasn't Weyrich saying just last week that President Bush was going to lose?
A regular ray of sunshine, huh?

Plus the 1986 tax "reform", which was significant, even if we may not have liked it. Plus defeating the Sandanistas.
