You're right about the Army, and even the Air Force has been known to reduce the physical requirements for females. When I went through the academy 24 years ago, we had to perform the same physical training as the males. In fact, we all trained & attended classes together, although we were housed in separate wings of the building. Since it is a paramilitary organization, we were required to keep our lockers, rooms, and beds exactly as shown in diagrams. If we failed inspection, the whole unit was grounded. We had to march, stand when all brass entered the room, salute Lieutenants or above, wear & keep our uniforms in required condition...yada, yada, yada.
As a supervisor, I would never ask one of the officers to do anything that I wouldn't or couldn't do myself. I was of the belief that if you look out for your officers, they'll look out for you, and that the officers can make or break your career. I worked with a great group of officers on the 3-11 shift for many years. I could have worked days, but never wanted to because there was always too much brass walking around the place. The only thing I miss about the job since retirement is the officers.

As easy as it was to be tough at work, it was very hard to get my youngest son to tow the line at home. He's 33 now, and still needs a smack in the head every so often. When he was about the same age as your child, I had a horrible time getting him to do his homework, etc. I was a recently divorced mother of two. I was working 1-9 p.m. and 3-11 shifts, and it was terrible having to come home at those hours and fight with my kid to do his homework. After awhile, you just want to throw your hands up. I, of course was frustrated because it was easier for me to get an inmate to do what I wanted than my own kid. With a convict, you can toss him in a cell, take away his rec, etc. if he doesn't behave. It's alot harder doing that with your kids, especially when you can't be home all the time to enforce it all. I'm glad those days are behind me. I wish you luck.

I started in Corrections in '80 and there were Muslims in the system back then. In fact, there were two groups of Muslims: The American Muslim Mission and the Sunni. They did not worship together and the facility made arrangements for them to each have their own mosque areas in the prison. Over the years, the groups (at least in the prison), began attending Jumah services together. I never noticed any problems at my facility regarding conversions. It went on regularly. The important thing was that we had a very good Imam who kept the group in line and didn't allow the inmates to abuse their membership in the group. If they didn't attend services or comport themselves as good Muslims, he wouldn't let them participate. I credit him with keeping our Muslim population in line. He only dealt with those practicing members of the Muslim religion. He wasn't associated with the Nation of Islam in any way. They had their own civilian advisor who attended their meetings at the facility once or twice a night during the week.
Have you seen a good picture of this woman? There is a good one on Drudge right now. The one in the post above is the most flattering I've seen of her and that's only because it's from a distance and she has a hat on. Anyway, I don't think even Flynt would offer her a spread. Yes, even a lowlife like Flynt has standards, lol. I heard the funniest thing on the radio this morning. The host said he read that England's lawyer had said one of the reasons she was being picked on was because she was a pretty young woman. I usually don't like to focus on someone's look, but having this particular woman in the center of a sex scandal is almost laughable.
Mind you, I never saw any of this happen myself.
