Early this Morning, the President started his day at the Pentagon for another briefing from Sec. Defense Rumsfeld.
Before boarding Marine1 this Morning, the President spoke with the White Press Corps on the grounds of the White House where he express outrage at the brutal murder of an American citizen who was in Iraq to help rebuild the country, and then expressed his condolences to the Berg family for their loss.
Pres. Bush flew on Marine1 to NIH where he promoted the administration's "Reading First" program with curriculum developed in part from NIH research into why millions of students cannot read up to their grade level. So far, the "Reading First" initiative involves 73,000 teachers, more than 1 million students and a commitment to spend $5 billion over five years, Pres. Bush reported.
Pres. Bush also met with the President of Angola, Jose Eduardo dos Santos, in the Oval Office of the White House to discuss HIV/AIDS and education in Angola.

AND hold the salute long after he's aboard, or if he's leaving, they turn to face him as he leaves - something that the Marines never did. That turning part is to honor the President and the Marines, while dutiful in their obligation to salute the President, they often didn't hold it very long and did not turn to follow the President as he walked away from Marine1 or in the case of Air Force honor guard,AF1.
Notice how we see the Officers turning to honor the President as he walks away from Marine1 and Air Force1!!
They love their CinC - they believe in him and know that he loves them. He's fought for 3 raises for them in his first two years in office - and they needed it.
Truthy - heading off to cook something to eat....for real, this time!

Our first fruits should be for the Lord...those times of devotion can be sprinkled throughout the day. I hope you take time to be refreshed by the Father, ohio...allow His presence to wash over you and minister to your heart, healing the innermost places where the enemy has caused unrest and hurt...and be renewed and filled to overflowing by the living water of Christ. God bless you.
I'm off to make supper for the Tiggywinkle's. Have a safe and meaningful evening, everyone.

Thanks for bringing us these pictures. I firmly believe that we have NEVER had a more lovely First Lady than Laura Bush. "BAR", her feisty mother-in-law, is very special too@

Your comment about the tiggywinkle haven is right on.
Your home is your sanctuary and generally speaking no one can get in unless you let them in. We've done the same thing that you have to make our home a haven. Years ago we started turning off the television more and more often and we seldom watch it now. A whole week can go by and we won't watch at all, sometimes a month or more. Usually it is for some sort of baseball or basketball game, or local news if there is bad weather and community closings.
Things are more peaceful now, our home is our haven. There is much more scripture and prayer here than anything else.
What you allow in your home and your heart and your mind is what you think about and what you speak about.
Blessings to your for your good example.

In my case, it's been just the opposite.
All the venomous rhetoric has galvenized me to begin writing journalistically again. Sure, it's pretty much just me thinking out loud once again, but I find that I am now to the point of getting back to the one thing I love doing (and utilizing my G-D given gift)
I had forgotten how much I missed doing it.
Now, if I could just find somebody to pay me for doing the same thing, I'd be set!

Thanks for posting the Dose tonight.
I had an interesting telephone call tonight from the Bush/Cheney 04 fundraising campaign. A gentlement first asked for my husband and was of course, looking for money. I told my husband to tell him that I sent in some money two weeks ago and of course my husband couldn't get off the phone so I told him to give me the phone; so he did. The young gentlemen on the line asked who I was and I indicated that I just sent in a check two weeks ago. Of course, he wanted to know if I could commit some money in another month. I said yes but on one condition. He asked what that was and I replied that I wanted a photograph of President Bush in his flight suit. He kinda chuckled at first and I told him that the Bush/Cheney 04 campaign could make a whole lot of money if they called their female contributors and let them know about the photograph. He then indicated to me that I was not the first to say this. He said a woman he talked to committed to $20.00 but said that if she could have a photograph of President Bush in his flight suit she would contribute $500.00. I told this gentlemen that he should go and talk to his supervisor about doing this and then I mentioned FreeRepublic.com and the Bush babes and how we post this picture almost every night on our daily dose. So if you girls out there start to get calls in the near future requesting contributions for a flight suit photograph of President Bush - you will know who will have had something to do with it.

Fabulous photos all.
Thanks so much.
Love the one with Rummy and POTUS.
I'm sure the media would hate
to see a smiling Rummy.

I still recall the incident where the president was boarding Marine 1, and accidently forgot to salute the Marine who was guarding the door. (IIRC, the President was carrying Barney (OWF???))
The Marine didn't react, but was utterly shocked when the President reappeared, and saluted the Marine at his station. I think the Marine smiled when the CIC did this.
Never would you have seen that little bit of respect from the previous administration. I like having the honor restored back to the office of the President.

We've all taken a hit on this. I've been in spiritual warfare all day. Even the market was fighting to come back from a deep hit; it finally did.

Woohoo! I'll shell out more in contributions for an 8 x 10 glossy GWB flightsuit pic. Love the one of Laura in hot pink with the president. Mine came inscribed to my husband. :-{ They shouldn't assume that the joint checking account always belongs to the man. It was my signature on the check and my return address on the envelope.

Absolutely, and let him know about it:
President@whitehouse.gov A few words are all that's necessary, they only count the pro and con and let the President know.

I've already received an automated reply from the White House. That means that their email is not very busy. Now's the time to let Dubya know you're supporting him.

Indeed. However, I'm guessing he's pretty disappointed these days with the handful of creepy punks who were doing bad things in the name of the U.S. government. They let the CIC down. I hope what the CIC and Sec/Def and others have taken (like real men) over the past week has been a lesson to any other jerks in uniform who are even THINKING about getting out of line.
