A few seconds after Nick Berg is pushed over and the knife put to his neck the clock skips from 2:44:12 to 2:45:47 during the throat cutting. 1:35 of clumsy hacking and screaming were edited out. Islam requires a sharp knife and quick kill but this was not.

The sound runs 5 to 7 seconds ahead of the video. That is why the yelling starts before anyone moves. The reader audibly clears his throat at 2:42:32 but covers his mouth at 2:42:38.

Maybe they used two different tapes with two different timestamps and edited the footage together.

Thats my guess, two different tapes. Maybe one is on a tripod. That would account for the vastly different times between the clips, and also the different angles and "jitteryness".

Ok, I just noticed this too, it seems that the tripod camera has a clock problem. Twice in the footage I have seen, the second clock goes from :39 to :10, instead of 40, but then it goes up and over 40 find (at least the first time). First time was at 2:40:39, the next time was at 2:44:39. The next second reads as 2:44:10, you can see the still posted in this thread. One second before that still it read 2:44:39. The clock is messed up, or maybe thats how Arabs tell time, and this explains their backwardness..

I am afraid you are right, and I don't think the Americans or westerners are capable, for the most part, of supporting the kind of retaliation this butchery deserves.

Look at it from the perspective of these masqued scum. They slowly butcher this guy, film it, distrinute it, and they get immediate world-wide coverage, they intensify anti-war sentiment at home, and they demoralize other civilians over there.

Conclusion? Nothing succeeds like success and they repeat the demonstration.

The only suitable, rational response is one we are incapable of taking - drawing by lot ten Muslim terrorists, publicly beheading them, and burying the corpses in a pigskin with a warning that we will escalate our payback with each additonal western hostage captured or killed.
Next time - twenty Muslim terrorists feel the knife.

The other thing we should be doing, along with Israel, and every one else who is terrorized by these scum is to retaliate against their families.

If a terrorist or suicide bomber can be identified, and their families located, they should be captured, beheaded, and buried in pigskins. In a tribal society in which allegience to the extended family and tribe is more important than one's own survival, such tactics will reap rewards.

None of this is very pretty and it goes against western sensibilities of fairness and justice. However, it is the ONLY successful way to deal with people who think like these.

But we won't do it. We will continue to try to play the nice guy with a bunch of sub-human scum and in the long run - they will win because of it.

People like the Mongols, the Turks, the Romans successfully dealt with similar situations and the only way we can equally succeed is to emulate their ferocity.

It could be two different videos from different cameras. Perhaps the timetamps are different, either from low batteries in one camera, bad input from the beginning, or else the cameras used were programmed for different timezones.

The timestamp does look like it was from the same brand of camera, though, so there is of course the possibility that the time is right. Either they edited heavily or just stopped periodly and filmed different things to see what played 'best' in their twisted little point of view.

I doubt it ran continuously. If it ran that long continuously they must have an incredible battery.

They probably didn't want to include anything like what the Italian said before they killed him as it wouldn't play into their plan and so were careful to edit to get just what they wanted.

If we could master this sort of clarity and mobilize a majority of Western civilization if not to engage in it, to at least not oppose it, it would constitute the most important break through in our progress in at least 500 years.
