Sen. John Kerry wants his Republican ally John McCain to replace Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld.
"If America has reached a point where only one person has the ability in our great democracy to manage the Pentagon and to continue or to put in place a better policy even, we're in deeper trouble than you think," Kerry told broadcaster Don Imus today.
"I don't accept that. I just don't accept that. I think that's an excuse. The fact is that we need a change in policy."
Asked who he'd pick as a replacement, the presidential candidate first named Sen. McCain. Then he mentioned Sen. Carl Levin, D-Mich., Sen. John Warner, R-Va., and William Perry, who was defense secretary under Bill Clinton.
"There are any number of people who are unbelievably capable. This notion that we have to continue with a policy that's wrong and taking us down the wrong track is absurd," Kerry said.
McCain has long been an apologist for the Massachusetts Democrat. Only this week he said no one should look into Kerry's admitted war "atrocities."

Sen. John Kerry wants his Republican ally John McCain to replace Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld. The funny thing is that McCain would drop twice the number of bombs on Iraq as Rumsfeld. Does Kerry even understand what he is saying?

Actually, John Kerry should resign from the Senate himself, since he's already admitted that he has committed the very atrocities he's so upset with Rumsfeld about.

It's time for McCain to step up and tell Kerry to stop undermining our military, our commander in chief, and our resolve. And to stop using McCain as a prop.

Why would we replace a sharp, gutsy man with a human-chipmunk hybrid? That's like voting in a suck-egg mule for president.....wait a minute...I'm seeing a pattern...

This would be tantamount to a formal surrender to Al Queda.

I bet he does. Those two must be dealing with post-Vietnam stress syndrome. They also seem to hate the U.S. in a major way.

The funny thing is that McCain would drop twice the number of bombs on Iraq as Rumsfeld. Yeah. On OUR troops. He'd call it the USS Forrestal plan.

Carl Levin? LOL!

The Senate Armed Services Committee allegedly investigating the Iraq prison abuse just asked Rummy what's taking so long to catch Binny. This whole thing is a farce. McStain and Hanoi John are PART OF IT.
