May 12, 2004 -- WASHINGTON - A young American contractor in Iraq was mercilessly beheaded by Islamic terrorists on a horrifying videotape released yesterday as so-called revenge for the abuse of Iraqi prisoners. The sickening video, posted on an al Qaeda-linked Web site, shows a killer identified as terror boss Abu Musab Zarqawi sawing off the head of a screaming Nick Berg.

Is CBS pleased? Did the pictures produce the desired effect? CBS pretends this death, and the many more to come, are "Unintended Consequences". But I don't believe that.

Showing the prison pictures was throwing gasoline on a fire. Seeing fire explode isn't an unintended consequence of that act. It's an intended consequence. A story, yes. But pictures? NO. Adding the pictures was gratuitous. And evil.

CBS pushed the dream of Iraq exploding, the fires of hate burning hotter, and a difficult peace becoming more elusive. All good to keep an audience on the edge of their seats. All evil. Did they know what they were doing?

On CBS's side, they got a few extra people to watch -- and might have hurt the Bush Administration. Sick. CBS in my home? I think not.

I watched and listened to the video, I think most of the screams and hollering was from the terrorist.

"It is also time to do as stboz says: "Folks, it's time to start showing up outside mosques in this
country. No violence....but, put them on the spot. Either you are with us or you are with the
terrorists." "Moderate Islam" better show up and learn to get with us - for real - and pronto. "

I'm all for doing that but my sign will call for these
Arab invaders to get the hell out of America!
And take their damn mosque with them!

I can think of no manly jihadi so manly that decades of monotanous submission as G.I. Janes' chattle would not bring him back to reality. B!+ch slapped often they should be.

I have no qualms over savages being straightened out for public safety and punishment. Chains, leashes, and nudity controls rioters regardless of purported faith.

I do not favor killing except as self-defense or military necessity, until nukes, dirties, or poxes are loosed upon us. Even if delivered by nameless proxies, we should wipe entire nations from the face of this earth, because we know who our mortal enemies are and how to end these threats. If we can dig open pit mines, we can fill them.

We're dealing with the most treacherous, bloodlustful SOBs mankind has ever produced; this our media shall never report. 1,300 years of bloodlust invasions' history teaches us all we need to know of islam.

Our warriors' work is too difficult for most, so pictures made this an issue. Boohoo. Our warriors shall be made to pay for necessary sins.

Our self-indulgent, Machiavellian politicians are shocked! (when before the cameras)

I want to puke when Mary Jo's drunken killer openly commits treason again and again to further the cause of his DNC-Politburo's fight to rule the USSA. Those cowards foolishly think that Koranazis are as corrupt as they because oily arabs' petro-dollars bought off the Clintons. Infedels and Jews all.

Many tools of the trade and thongs to diapers shall remain useful to those of us fighting Koranazis' world conquest. Others should divert their eyes as they cower.

Is the Clintons' "Don't Ask - Don't Tell" on show for Congress and detainees?

I'd love to see millions of leashed 80 y.o. jihadies with chronic nappy rash deprived over 60 years of their chance at the right hand of LAllah. At thqat age, what use is one much less 72 virgins, used or not? Of course detained jihadies' families should receive progress photos often.

Perhaps we should all buy sawback machetes preparing for islam's swords on our streets and at our children's schools and playgrounds.

Politics is the reason why we're in this mess in the first place. If Bush were a leader, he'd take decisive action, and explain to We The Sheeple why he did it.

Of course, he had the opportunity to do precisely that when Congress sent the McCommie-Swinegold CFR bill to him, but instead he decided to play it politically safe ands leave it up to the SCOTUS to strike it down. The only problem is, they didn't, and now the First Amendment has been dealt a death blow.

Come to think of it, he had the opportunity to show the Chinese and the rest of the world he had a spine, after the Chicoms rammed our P-3 Orion and held our crew hostage for three weeks. But instead of staring the Commie SOBs down and giving them exactly 24 hours to return our sailors and our plane to us, he played pattycake with them, and demonstrated his lack of courage to the world. The terrorists were watching, and I'm convinced they saw his demonstrated weakness as a sign to go ahead with their 9-11 plan.

Bush has no spine, because he's a politician, not a leader. If he had an ounce of courage, the entire Muslim world would be scared stiff of us by now, because we would have reduced Iraq, Iran, Syria and others to smoking rubble. If he had an ounce of courage, he wouldn't have pulled the Marines out of Fallujah, he'd simply have turned them loose to do whatever they deemed necessary to whomever necessary, and it would have been Al Sadr's head held up to a video camera instead of our fellow American's.

I couldn't care less about politics right now. I want us to win this freakin' war, before our enemy decides we're such pansies they can just go ahead and hit us on our own shores again...with NBC weapons this time.

Scouts Out! Cavalry Ho!

I would go with a neutron type, but nuclear isn't right just yet.
Could get there if we find the people are mostly backing the terrorists.

If that happened you radiate like a cancer rather than kill more soldiers being gentile.

So we can't do that here either.

"If we are going to do it this way, we ought to make the determination to make this a COLONY of the US. If we are going to do this, we ought to plant one of the MOST FORMIDIBLE MILITARY BASEs there that has ever been constructed in history, replete with all the most advanced weaponry. We take advantage of all that sand and virtually uninhabitable terrain to conduct very visible weapons testing. We use this as a base of operations to conduct all our future purgings of Islamofacist behavior. If we need more room, we take that, too. Any Islamic country who objects, we take them and their resources, too - we'll need them. If we are going to do this, we MAKE it FOR THE OIL and other resources, and take full advantage of that oil - every last drop of it."

This is precisely what should be done, and a course of action (almost to the letter) I've been advocating since the git-go. But unfortunately it'll happen when pigs fly.

This is from the Yahoo Tower Pro group. John and group. I copied this message from another board. John, I believe you know which one. I thought this was a great insight to the young man and his dedication. It was written by Mark Humphry. Gary BEGIN: Message: 4 Date: Wed, 12 May 2004 12:35:16 -0400 From: "Mark Humphrey" Subject: [BC] [BC]Remembering Nick (was Why was Nick in Iraq?) The tragic news about Nick Berg's murder hit very close to home, as I had known him for about two years and we hired him for several recent projects -- in fact, he installed an auxiliary antenna for WPLY in February, just before heading back to Iraq. Perhaps I can shed some light on this situation. First, let me say that Nick impressed me as a very bright, resourceful and dedicated individual who cared a great deal about improving our quality of life by applying his skills and knowledge. Nick not only possessed the necessary physical ability and stamina to do the job, but had also studied engineering at Drexel, Penn, and Cornell, so I felt very comfortable letting him handle our work. I knew that he wanted to grow his own business, and I felt obligated to give him that opportunity. He had all sorts of ideas to bring technology to less-developed parts of the world, including a concrete tower which could be fabricated in remote parts of the world using locally- available materials, thus avoiding the problems of shipping steel in the absence of a good transportation network. In fact, at last year's PAB Engineering Conference in Hershey, he and his father (who served as business manager of the company) displayed a prototype modular structure called "Bovl Blocks", made of interlocking concrete blocks that could be cast on site, then stacked to the desired height. He thought this product would be particularly useful in the African interior, where cellular networks are just beginning to be built out. Why did he go to Iraq? He was aware that some towers were damaged last year during bombing missions, and many more had been looted... copper lines removed, diagonal members taken out, etc. Few obstruction lighting systems were functional -- he mentioned an 800 foot tower two miles from an airport (used by our military) that was totally dark. So he first went over in December to see if he could help to assist in the reconstruction, restore Iraq's broadcast services, and repair the serious structural damage that endangered the lives of their citizens. I received the following email message from Nick in early January: >About Iraq- >I am taking photos - where allowed. It's actually pretty sad - I just >got off one of two 320 meter monster towers in Abu Gharib (also home >to the main political prison) which use to support most of Baghdad >area's VHF and UHF. >Both have been badly looted, including 4000 feet or more of flexible 6- >1/8" heliax, two full 12X4 panel TV antennas, and even some structural >members. I was also in the North as I mentioned, but here there >wasn't as much damage. I'll definitely share some of these pix with >you and others next time I'm in the area - I'd love to put together a >little presentation for SBE or PAB in about six monthes after I've >been on every site and fixed some of them. He returned to Philadelphia in late January to catch up on some domestic business -- then in early February, tackled an antenna replacement job at our aux site, which he had quoted last summer. This proved to be more complicated than either of us had first assumed (a three-bay DA with two vertical and four horizontal parasites per bay) but he honored his original quote. The work took place in sub- zero windchills... my feet were getting plenty cold just standing out in the cornfield as we aligned the azimuth, it must have been brutal up on the tower, but he took it in stride. (I'm sending Barry some pictures of Nick on this job to post on the "Oldradio" site.) After Nick completed assembly and we purged the system, I ran the pressure up to 5 PSI and closed the valve on the nitrogen tank. I came out at 4:30 AM the next morning to run some power into the new antenna, and as the transmitter ramped up to full output, I saw *zero* reflected. (I tapped the meter to make sure it wasn't stuck!) We had a perfect installation, no split or missing bullets, etc. And I haven't seen *any* pressure loss since then (actually, the gage reads between 7 and 8 now, due to the warmer weather.) I knew that Nick was planning to return to Irag in March, but hadn't heard any word from him over the past two months, which had me concerned. Then I received the message from his parents (which Stu Engelke posted here last week) and my heart sunk. I was at lunch yesterday when the news broke about his brutal murder, and I was devastated. If you've been following all sides of this story, you may have read that his parents did not receive much cooperation from OUR Federal Government when trying to learn his whereabouts, which is very disturbing. He had reportedly booked a March 30 flight back to New York, but missed it because he had been detained by our military. Today's "spin" on the story is that they told him to get out, but I'm not buying that. Let's keep his family in our thoughts and prayers. Our industry (and humanity) has lost a very fine person. Mark

What makes you think President Reagan would have dropped a bomb on them?

He cut and ran as soon as that truck bomb killed 289 marines in Lebanon, didn't he?

and folks who will not go balls to the wall... don't get it.

our outcome is uncertain folks... we can actually lose this war and our heads ultimately, if we roll over for every "fallujah" uprising, and human barbecue or beheading.

bush, God love him, is too "compassionate" a conservative to put his foot down so hard... take their oil and setup the means to secure liberty in the region.

It just is too harsh.
A nation that cannot handle a iraqi terrorist dressed with silk panties on his head and a light cord on his genitals... does not have what it takes to win a war against barbarians of this magnitude.

we need to kick the dogs and make examples of islamists... at every opportunity. visit their jihad on them and their kin... one hundredfold.

That was the very low point in the Reagan Presidency, and one which most likely reinforced our "paper tiger" status throughout the Muslim world. Word is that the Gipper's first instinct was to strike back at the enemy hard (most likely take out Hezbollah bases in the Bekaa Valley and perhaps some targets in Syria and Iran), but unfortunately Cap Weinberger talked him out of it.

(Btw, the # of Marines killed was 241)
