im not saying reason with the bully. im not saying these guys dont deserve death. what im saying is that if you batch all the people together and label them 'enemy' you are falling into the trap set by those who truly are our enemies.

they want you to feel like all the muslims, or arabs are your enemy, because then the moderates, the normal people, and even people who are pro-west, are alienated from us. these people then are much easier pickings for the enemy, its propaganda and its gathering of new recruits.

this seems to be the thing that both the left and the right are missing here. we shouldnt pull out, we need to stay and clean up this mess. but we have to understand our enemy, and we have to understand that he is trying to pull many people onto his side by alienating them from us. how does he do this? he provokes us into barbarism and response.

This is what they do. You give them far too much credit by claiming that they do this to provoke a reaction. No, they do this regardless of the circumstances. They do it because they are commanded to and because they enjoy it. They've done it no matter the response or the previous conduct of their enemy.

I won't watch it. I saw that video of the Chechen rebels decapitating the Russian soldier and I couldn't catch my breath for about 30 seconds. The slashers in Iraq had decent paying long term jobs under Saddam, Saddam didn't have these sick f**ks killing Iraqis for religious reasons. They did it to destroy the will of their enemies. They are sick f**ks who built a discipline and career out of murder and torture, and well know the effects it had on the hapless Iraqi population. They want to not just push out our presence in their country, they want to invade our souls with the fear they thrived on, the fear they used to control the Iraqis.

Any means necessary to destroy them, but there are millions of Iraqis who went through decades of this, tens of thousands who searched throughout the country when it was liberated searching for their loved ones, never seen from, or heard from again, who know the pain personally, who lost their loved ones to the same group of murderers, to the same blade.

We show weakness, they Iraqis who are 30 years deep the victims of torture, will see their reaction to cower in fear was the same as the Americans, their individual and collective choice of crawling as slaves instead of standing as free men, will be validated. The g-d damn Democrats and US and World media are doing the same as for what they did for Ho Chi Minh. And it proves again the US military is fighting the last war, at least on the mass media aspects.

On that note, Shinseki was right, and our loved ones in Iraq now pay the consequences. Contractors should not have those assignments, US military engineers, or US contractors with military escorts, the footprint that Shinseki proposed.

FReepers have noted the pros and cons of watching the video of Nick Berg's death. Viewing murders like this are painful experiences, but I believe it keeps Americans focused on why we do what we do with regard to foreign diplomacy.

I will watch the complete footage when I can find it. The links on Sean Hannity's site are either inaccurate or their servers are crashed. Does anyone have another source?

Nick Berg, Flight 93, Pat Tillman, and Fabrizio Quattrocchi, you will not be forgotten by FReepers.

If I recall correctly, the Taliban in Afghanistan was lopping heads off with Arabian sabers in a soccer stadium in Afghanistan. These were staged executions of their own fellow Afghanis. Saudi Arabian jurisprudence, Islam-style, uses mutilations and decapitation as par for the course. For Muslims, this is actually NOT that extraordinary.

Presumably, with a Muslim invasion of Europe, you could multiply that by the tens of thousands. Think about it.

In the original wave of Muslim invasions, the heads were placed on pikes for display.
