I saw the video. My reaction is take ten AQ out of Gitmo and do the same on video and send it to Al Jazeera TV.

Without trying to start an argument, can you not see the difference between a naked guy on a leash and someone's head being cut off.

Between the two acts, of course there is a difference. But, your question makes the point why this video should be shown on the networks. These are the people we are fighting. They are barbaric. This is war, Mr. LonghornFreeper. How can you expect people to understand what this war is about and who we are fighting if you don't show them, if the "news" media sanitizes this?

What cause is there in censoring this? That people will not be offended by the site of it? Rediculas. In record numbers they went to see the movie, Passion of The Christ, kids watch gruesome video games daily. Everyone has gone to a horror film at least once.

You are just flat out wrong on this.

(By the way and not to be cute or snide, but your name should be LonghornFReeper, you might want to correct that).

Pardon my crudity, but I cannot help myself at this point. I'm not sure that showing the beheading is such a good idea, but the same media who are willing to show an Iraqi prisoner whacking himself off, are afraid of pictures of Iraquis whacking the head off of an American.

My disgust with the mainstream media is not complete. Just bring back a democratic administration so they (the media) can report daily on the many ways we can coddle the world into peace. Then they, like the rest of us, can die the slow death of self destruction.

Surely Brokow in writing his book, The Greatest Generation, did not have Cronkite, Rooney, Rather, Wallace, or for that matter, himself in mind.

Yeah - they'll fill the time with more prison photos, bet on it.

The only thing that upsets the media and the liberals about the beheading of the innocent American is it gives a little less credibility to their big Iraqi abuse campaign. They'll try to blame this beheading on that in fact --- forgetting that Daniel Pearl was also beheaded but long before any mocking was done of Iraqi prisoners.

If we show it and the next one, and the next one after that it will simply become a commonplace. People who feel they must see it can find it.

I think in general it is a wise decision to refrain from showing the gruesomeness. It is true that the act itself was so repulsive as to strongly affect us even without images. But of course that also means the media shouldn't broadcast the military sex tapes, rape, etc.(which they won't). Granted, we are all outraged at how the media has politicized this and hurt our war effort by endlessly playing the abuse photos, but escalating and normalizing the showing of barbarianism and brutality is still a bad idea, no matter how angry we are with the dishonest and subversive media. There are other ways to fight them.

But highlighting their hypocricy is vital. They keep wanting to bring it all back to Vietnam, so let's ask this question: During Vietnam, did the media show the pictures of the naked burning person running down the streets? Did the FCC stop the TV stations from showing such? Did the media show the picture of the American blowing the brains out of the frightened plain-clothed Viet Cong? Did the TV stations?

Serious questions, I was too young to watch the news during Vietnam.

However - we expect terrorists to conform to the lowest standards

You may, I don't. If they behave like savages they should be treated like savages and exterminated. As somebody earlier explained they shouldn't expect us to bring a knife to a gunfight. Like a lot of other people, I'm no longer content to assume an even-handed approach to the Koranazis.

The cover of this week's Time Magazine is an illustration of a hooded terrorist...naked. It was styled to copy images of Christ's crucifixion.
Let's what next week's cover looks like.

I did look at the video against my better judgement and you were right in your concern for your children. Kids have enough to deal with these days without being exposed to this kind of cruelty. Knowing it happened really is enough. I downloaded it ten minutes ago and I still have one eye on the bathroom door hoping the nausia subsides. But then the media showed gun camera video of a wounded Iraqi being turned into meat confetti by a chain gun in January so what's the difference. Both episodes are equally callous, equally cruel and equally sickening.

Is saw this video, and most people probably don't want too. Yet is should be seen...to show just how savage these people are. The American people and the world need to get really angry about this. PM me is you want to know where to get the video.

Judging by the number of people uploading from my Kazaa share, this video will get around.

Good hosting.

Stay steady Freepers. November is a long time. Keep telling the truth. Stay on message.

And, if and when you pray, remember our President.

Would you prefer they fight for ratings by glorifying the grisly murder of Americans?

No. I would prefer that the media be honest with the American people they claim to serve. There is a vast difference in scale and tone between the way the media cover a story like this and the way they cover something like the prison story.

For those who cannot get this point, I feel sorry for you, because you are among the gullible chumps the media rely on to buy their product.

Publishing the truth about death in war is not new. Here are some of Matthew Brady's photos from the Civil War:

This next is of a surgeon embalming a soldier:

"Because kids watch primetime news sometimes."

Then let the parents watch with them. Or let the parents decide whether or not the kids watch.

I realize that there is a fine line between educating our young people and marking them for life. At what point, though, do we realize that we are dealing with an enemy unlike any that we have ever faced? (which, I believe, a certain President did mention that right after 9-11)

These "people" have absolutely no problem killing us...men, women and children (all of which were on those planes). There is a very simple solution for parents who do not want them to watch that video, were it to be shown--change the channel.

Why make the SOBs look bad. Those of us who will be pissed by this video already are. Those who cower from the very thought of Muslim retribution will solidify their case against the president. The latter includes the press who, other than Fox, have told us a story making this sound like it is retribution. It is barbarism and the world will never see it that way. The appeasers will always blame us or our involvement with oil as the reason. These animals are not ecen worthy of being called animals. They are humans in their most base form. The evil that was civilised out of the rest of us.

Folks, This video does not need to
be shown. To show it would only appeal to certain "pornographic sensibilities."
