Kristinn just called me and asked me to post this thread.

He just called CBS Evening News and asked them if they were going to show the militant Islamists' video of the beheading of American Nick Berg.

The woman who answered the phone said that they were going to do a story on it, but they were NOT going to show the full video.

He asked them, "Why not, since you had no problem showing the pictures of the Iraqis being abused by our guys in the prison. Don't you think turnabout is fair play?"

The woman got mad and said, "Thank you for your comment." and then hung up the phone.

I'm sorry, but I just can't agree.

It was shameful the way the pictures have been sensationalized, but there is no way that I think this man's death shold be shown on national television.

Think about what it would be like for your father's beheading to be on the evening news.

I am all for the media's hypocrisy being pointed out, but this is just wrong, in my humble opinion.

I doubt anyone here wants them to actually air the video. The point is that the prisoner abuse situation could have been handled in a more discreet manner as well. But CBS chose instead to get in a cheap shot at the administration, at the expense of the safety of Americans.

I would consider such a broadcast to be in extremely poor taste and unnecessarily inconsiderate of the victim's friends, family and loved ones.

On a side note: Chris Core, a local radio show host who is normally very wishy-washy and wimpy about things, has said CBS has an OBLIGATION to show this video.

I used that email address and let loose my feeling about their "almighty race for rates" being responsible for the murder of an American citizen and very likely more deaths of our men and women in the armed forces.

Called and emailed. I talked to Allison, who said they would lead with the story, but not show the video, "it compromises journalistic integrity". It was all I could not to scream. They are hypocrites and they know it. But just dont care. They will move on to the next Bush attack..

I just watched that video. I really dont want anybody to see it. I am very disturbed by it. I have seen some sick stuff in my day. But the haunting screams the gurgle and the neck break is just horrifying, while the bastard Jihadis dance and yell Alla Akbar. I am ready for a a real crusade now against these asses.
