Kristinn just called me and asked me to post this thread.

He just called CBS Evening News and asked them if they were going to show the militant Islamists' video of the beheading of American Nick Berg.

The woman who answered the phone said that they were going to do a story on it, but they were NOT going to show the full video.

He asked them, "Why not, since you had no problem showing the pictures of the Iraqis being abused by our guys in the prison. Don't you think turnabout is fair play?"

The woman got mad and said, "Thank you for your comment." and then hung up the phone.

I actually don't want them to air the video, nor do I wish to see it (the descriptions give me a clear enough mental picture), but CBS' hypocrisy on this is mind-boggling.

I really dont either, the stills I saw were bad enough. But I do want them to take some responsibilty. The 60 minutes story coupled with the saturation media coverage, indirectly led to Bergs death..

I called CBS News this afternoon and asked if their ratings for showing the abused photos had been worth an American beheaded and the gal hung up on me. I was very soft spoken and nice by the way. I have Emailed my friends to call and write to CBS. Our voices must be heard.

60 minutes II is doing ANOTHER story on the outrages at Abu Gharib....

Even after this beheading video....I am simply speechless with these folks. Is CBS going for a multiple beheading? impaling schoolgirls...? can they not see cause and effect, or did they not read the words of the terrorist in this video...? Who runs CBS, the Marquis DeSade and Stalin, criminy the nerve of these people!

I just called and was hung up on after a lame excuse of "We showed what we could within FCC regulations." That answer is bogus. First ammendment rights protect the airing of news, so that specious answer does not hold water.

The fact remains simple, they are want to air anything which impugns the integrity of this great nation, but shrink from making sure the American people understand what kind of enemy we face.

BTW, I'll never want to see any graphic or video of this despicable act perpetrated upon Mr. Berg, his family, my fellow citizens, and all people of decency.

Well, it is supposedly posted on the Muntada al-Ansar website. I haven't been able to find it. Probably just as well -- seen enough bloodshed in my life -- including my own [drove a cab for 6 years]. You're welcome to try.

No, you big knucklehead; that's not the point of this thread.

The point of this thread is to call CBS (that's why many of us have been repeatedly posting the phone number) and make it known to them that the American public is outraged at their biased reporting, that they pick and choose what they will show to the public, and by doing so they are trying to make the news, trying to sway American public opinion, and trying to portray American soldiers as savages - WHEN IN REALITY the real savages are the militant Islamists.

The American system is working on finding and prosecuting the soldiers who humiliated the Iraqi prisoners.

CBS has blood on its hands.

I called and told the fine young lady at the other end of the phone that I held CBS directly responsible for the beheading of that young man and that they should be ashamed. And that their sponsors would hear from me too. She hung up the phone pretty quick. Im not sure I was well received.

So I sent an email to walmart investor relations saying that I would specifically avoid entering their storefront until such time as CBS aired a full apology and accepted responsibility for their part in this atrocity, this OUTRAGE.

I guess I will be waiting for awhile.

I'm going to miss "Joan of Arcadia", "CSI" and "Jag" . As God as my witness I will not watch another thing on CBS again from this moment forward - even my (formerly) favorite shows! ANybody have an email addy to CBS's entertainment division? I think they need to discover just how much viewership this is going to cost them.
