Million Mom Dud

REVIEW & OUTLOOK

Here's more evidence that a million ain't what it used to be. On Sunday the Million Mom March ended up attracting between 2,000 and 3,000 women to the West Lawn of the Capitol. Though organizers tried to put a brave face on the paltry turnout, it was quite a comedown from Mother's Day four years ago, when the same event attracted hundreds of thousands and was cheered on from the Clinton White House.

The ostensible purpose of this year's march was to kick off a campaign to secure bipartisan Congressional support for the extension of the federal ban on assault rifles, which expires in September. But who are we kidding? This was a rally that featured speakers such as Al Sharpton and the Reverend Jesse Jackson. The real agenda here was illustrated by the mannequin of George W. Bush that, as the Washington Post reported, "people were invited to pummel." So what if Mr. Bush supports an extension of the ban and has said he'll sign an extension if it reaches his desk.

Did they also burn the Bush mannequin at the end of the event? Gad, these people are sick.

Senator Clinton didn't bother showing up this year.

Well, why should she? The first MMM was nothing but a White House-sponsered campaign event for Hillary and Gore, organized by Clinton administration shill Donna Dees-Thomases.

Hillary in office now... she doesn't need these dupes any longer.

I think there would have been more at the Million Mom March if it hadn't been scheduled so closely to the so-called March For Women's Lives, which was about killing to prevent becoming a mom. Priorities, y'know.

It was on CSPAN (naturally!) and I watched only a few minutes. It was hilarious!! One of those aging folks singers, gray bearded and balding, spent by years of doping, and undermining America, yet confused and puzzled why his Soviet masters do not answer his calls, was trying to get his lame protest song going. One of the instruments would not come up on the electronics and they futzed around with that while the old guy (was he the child molester that Carter eventually pardoned?) apologized and apologized. Don't know if they ever made any music because I, like many of the sparse, very sparse, crowd, moved on.

The crowd (?) was so light because most of the ANSWER anti-American activists are resting in Southern Italy, Florida and Spain practicing for the spontaneous demonstrations and violence at the Olympics and Republican Convention.

Remember how at the last MMM, ABC broadcast This Week with Sam Donaldson and Cokie Roberts live from the venue?

Hmmmm? I wonder if it could have anything to do with the fact that one of the original funders of this organization was the European "World Workers Party", a communist organization. I suspect a lot of moms were turned off by that information. What the MOMS have left is the true lefties of the country. Doesn't look like the MAJORITY to me ......??

Somehow this doesn't suprise me. I read a blurb a few months ago that handgun ownership among women has been steadily on the rise in this country since 1999, since 2001 they have represented the fastest growing demograhic in gun ownership.

Wow! That's 0.0007 to 0.0010 percent of the population. (Considering about 280 mil as the total population).
