Petosky, MI, May. 11 (UPI) -- Tuesday is the deadline for John Ramsey, the father of murdered child beauty queen JonBenet Ramsey, to file for a Michigan state legislative seat.
Ramsey was expected to file papers by the day's end to run as a Republican in the August primary of Michigan's 105th House legislative district, the Petoskey News-Review reported.

He should run as a democrap. Then Gary Condit could campaign for him.

Didn't he work for Lockheed? In all liklihood he is and has been a Republican.

The media crushed the Ramseys. They (especially HIM!) did nothing wrong. They saw an "evil rich" man and did everything in there powers to try to bury him to make themselves a few bucks. Oh the irony. If it were a poor urban family in the ghetto you wouldn't have heard three words about it. Unless a rich white man was a suspect, then you definently would of.

I'm sure he is a Republican.
There's some conjecture that the Boulder Polic Dept. was full of Democrats who loved going after a rich Republican and used the beauty pageant angle to justify their manipulation of facts.
Hope the truth will come out some day.

In my opinion, the Boulder Police dropped the ball on this case - the girl and her killer were probably in the house when the police arrived - they didn't find her body for five or six hours after the police arrived (!?). This was some sloppy police work. Then the Boulder DA and/or some scurrilous power-hungry boobs tried to pin this on the Ramsey's. I guess we'll never know, but my gut instinct says the Ramsey's are innocent, loved their children, and were victims of a smear by inmcompetent socialist Boulderite Nazis. Not the police in general, the Boulder police are awesome, competent, and friendly; the DA's office or someone in authority tried to pin this on the Ramsey's, to cover for their own incompetence. Boulder is run by genius-morons.

This automaticly puts a safe GOP seat in play.
So far we have (About an hour left before filing deadline)
GOP:
Ramsey - Charlevoix City and County
Jack Apol - Charlevoix City
Kevin Elsenhammer - Bellaire, Antrim County
Jeff Garfield - Gaylord, Otsego County
Bonnie Nothoff - Kewadin, Antrim County
Craig Ryan - Gaylord
Dems
Greg Dean - Elmira, Otsego/Antrim Border
Jim McKimmy - Kewadin, Antrim County
So on the GOP side, 2 from Charlevoix, 2 from Antrim, 2 from Otsego, none from Cheboygan. Ken Bradsteet(Otsego County) is the current rep, and he won't back Ramsey at all, and will back the dem if he's pro-2a and pro-life(and those are not hard to find up north) and if Ramsey is the nominee.

The Ramsey's first act was to hire the former Attorney General of Colorado. Typical of a family with a supposedly kidnapped/murdered child?

And the second thing they did was hire a Public Relations firm.
Sorry..but the story didn't add up from the beginning. Too many lies from the Ramsey's.

Dan, do you have a link to a place where we can find out who is donating to John Ramsey's campaign, and how much each donor has given?

I think he should wait until the investigation is completed before running for office.

The simple fact that this guy allowed his 4 year old daughter to be paraded around in public dressed up like a cheap hooker disqualifies him from running from office, being a father and being a husband.
This guy is a loser and monumental failure, notwithstanding the fact he may have had something to do with the death of that child.

Thaks, Dan. I know Ramsey has a lot of rich friends there in Charlevoix, at the yacht club, etc. They may be the ones backing him.
But the guy hasn't had a real job in seven years. Apparently, he's been living off the settlements of lawsuits against different media.
Why would any Republicans back a loser like Ramsey?
