Islamic Web site claims revenge killing Video shows beheading of man identified as AmericanBREAKING NEWS The Associated Press Updated: 1:28 p.m. ET May 11, 2004CAIRO, Egypt - A video posted Tuesday on an Islamic militant Web site showed a group affiliated with al-Qaida beheading an American civilian in Iraq, saying the death was revenge for the abuse of Iraqi prisoners by American soldiers.

The video showed five men wearing headscarves and black ski masks, standing over a bound man in an orange jumpsuit similar to a prisoners uniform who identified himself as Nick Berg, a U.S. contractor whose body was found on a highway overpass in Baghdad on Saturday.
My name is Nick Berg, my fathers name is Michael, my mothers name is Susan, the man said on the video. I have a brother and sister, David and Sarah. I live in ... Philadelphia.
After reading a statement, the men were seen pulling the man to his side and putting a large knife to his neck. A scream sounded as the men cut his head off, shouting Allahu Akbar! God is great. They then held the head out before the camera.
Berg was a small-business owner from the Philadelphia suburbs, his family said Tuesday.

"For the mothers and wives of American soldiers, we tell you that we offered the U.S. administration to exchange this hostage with some of the detainees in Abu Ghraib and they refused,"
I thought we were to beleive that al qaida and iraq had nothing to do with each other.

You are absolutely correct. In order to destroy any given animal, you must be at least as strong, as intelligent - and more vicious - than the animal you are to destroy. I echo your thoughts: Kill them. All of them.

Thank you 60 minutes, Thank you Democrats for making headlines about the "abuse", thank you network news... newpapers.... now if only Dan Rather would now go to Baghdad and "talk" to the terrorists..and CNN... they kept the photos of their abuse hidden in order to have access.
rest well liberal Bush and military bashers...

But leftists (and perhaps a few nutcases here on FR) A few??? More than a few here equate some frat house pranks on Iraqi terrorists with stringing Americans from bridges and be-heading them. Disgraceful.

I plead ignorrance in this case, so please don't flame me. What was it that CBS and 60 Minutes do that prompted this? Having not watched CBS or 60 Minutes for a while, I obviously missed something. Like all of you on this thread, I feel that the apology Bush made last week should be retracted and if everyone wants to see REAL prisoner abuse, by all means show this tape.
Maybe some attitudes will change. Highly improbable, but hopeful. To hell with those cowardly animals. The only way to treat a diseased animal is to kill it.

"It sure did. But leftists (and perhaps a few nutcases here on FR) are going to try their darndest to connect this murder to the shenanigans that went on in Abu Ghraib, you can take it to the bank."
Oh thats nothing, Dennis Prager had an arab journalist on who says the world is now concerned for the safety of prisoners in american prisons.
We might take their cable so they're forced to watch broadcast programming on their new flatscreen digital TVs.

If this country and the media don't wake up and smell the coffee, it's going to be OVER for our country, our freedom and our democracy.

"I'm sure that Ted Koppel will show the beheading on a "Special Edition" of Nightline along with the prison photos."
Yeah, along with another amelass explanation about how it is not political.
I ask this, FReepers: if anyone hears of anything that sensible Senators and Reps say about the murderous complicity of the liberals, the Fraudcast Media and the LameScream media, please post it. I want to see it.

Whether or not this guy was a peace activist doesn't matter.
He was an American.
I call upon the President to direct his eagles to tear open the throat of Islam.

No, the media jackals will put this in a completely separate category, 'justified rage' or perhaps 'understandable revenge'.
The abu Ghraib photos will continue to be top dead center for a loooong time, filed under 'bring Bush down'.

Done. Called WGNX Atlanta 46. 404.325.4646 I have gone from depression about about the Iraqi prison abuse to absolute anger and rage. Good thing I'm not the President because I'd have a hard time not picking up the red phone and ordering the military to nuke the Mideast right now.
