Daschle troubled by USDA refusal to allow blanket mad-cow testing

Senate Minority Leader Tom Daschle said Monday he is troubled by the U.S. Department of Agriculture's refusal to allow a Kansas beef processor to test all of its cattle for mad cow disease.

The idea that the USDA refuses to ALLOW (?) a company to test all it's cattle/beef is .....

1. If TRUE, and the company was testing with its own funds (not my taxes) the FDA must be thoroughly investigated and the corrupt officials sent to jail

2. If TRUE, and the company wanted testing using MY TAX $$$ and not their own money - that is a valid debatable point. but anything more than the required testing should be 100% borne by the company.

3. If FALSE = whoever is spreading this lie needs to be jailed.

The USDA says they will waste their money.

What business is it for the USDA to tell a private enterprise that it cannot produce the safest and highest quality product it can??

Oh - I know!! It isn't TYSON. Clintoon's favorite meat company.. You remember, during the clintoon decade, everytime you heard of any kind of contaminated meat, the clinton administration would go on ALL the media and sneeringly cry out for vengeance! and force the oofending company to recall all its products from anywhere and everywhere -no matter when or where it was processed.

The result being - the company goes bankrupt (thank you lawyer / judge /politician SLIME!) adn surprise, surprise, surprise --- in steps Tyson and seizes the assets..

Ever wonder why Malmart is the largest corp, and Tyson is the largest meat packer?

I side with DASCHLE on this one. the USDA must go to jail - or sent them to Iraq to do pig inspections.

That was my first suggestion,to test Hitlery and old crusty number 1,then Mikulski,Reno,Pelosi,Boxer,etc. Geez there is not enough equipment and man hours to test all the suspected mad cows.

It's #1 and I think it's a great idea to let the producer prove the safety of their product in the free market. It will fetch premium price in the Japanese export market.
