"Pinocchio Presidency" is the cover story in a recent issue of The American Conservative magazine. The artwork on the cover shows caricatures of George Bush, Donald Rumsfeld, Condoleezza Rice and Dick Cheney with Pinocchio noses. Inside, columnist Doug Bandow, a senior fellow at the Cato Institute and a former special assistant to President Ronald Reagan, explains the elongated noses: "A Pew survey found the most common description of Bush was 'liar.' The administration now finds its and America's credibility ruined."

These people are sure going to look stupid as future genereations look back at this war and what it's going to mean in world history.

Generally, the people who consider Bush a "liar" wouldn't know the truth if it bit them in the butt.

"First, with a downsized Army that's "only 480,000 strong and scattered across 100 countries," Buchanan states that we're stretched too thin to pacify Iraq. Second, we're "running out of money," given the double deficits in international trade and federal spending. Third, with whatever threat posed by Saddam and WMD now gone, there's a "deficit in imperial will," with nearly half the American public now saying it's time for the troops to pack up and head home. Fourth, with the deficit in stamina, our staying power won't be there (and shouldn't be) when we're asked to fight and die for "globaloney." "Buchanan is right about this as he was right about illegal immigration, abortion, homosexual practices, trade job losses and foreign entanglements bringing war to our shores. Defend America not the World.

You know, I saw Pitchfork Pat going through the drive-through with a posse of Brigadiers. When it was his turn to order, he barked out "Arbeit Macht Fries and a Chocolate Shake!".
It's a shame about Pat's uncle. He died in a concentration camp.
Fell out of a guard tower.

So far, the big thing we've found in Iraq is one small vial containing the B strain of botulinum in the refrigerator....And isn't that a relief! What if we had found artillery shells prepared with Anthrax or a production of nearly completed nuclear warheads with missiles suitable for accurate delivery. Would that have been better than the sordid comedy of weapons that we did find?
Bush, in essence was a police chief torn in two directions. He knew there was contraband in a "crack-house", but of what nature. Bush had probable cause and the equivelent of Grand Jury indictment, that is the UN Resolution 1441.
The one thing Bush cold not get was a search warrant from the judges at the UN. Why? Because the big players on the Security Council were on the take. Like a judge that is on the take from drug dealers, France, Russia and UN employees were on the take in the "Food for Oil" program. Bush was not going to get the multi-lateral approval or cooperation from the UN, no matter what he did or evidence he had, good or bad.
So Bush decided that doing a "warrantless search" of Iraq was better than waiting in terror for a 5 kilo-ton warhead going off in NYC, London, or LA. Bush risked his second term to do the right thing. We know for sure that there are now no WMD's in Iraq and are not likely to be for some time. That's good news.
