Text of the Second Amendment
"A well regulated Militia
being necessary to the security of a free State,
the right of the people to keep and bear Arms shall not be infringed."
Anyone who actually reads AND understands the 2nd Amendment will see that there is no need or authority for any type of gun registration and there is no need for anyone to have to apply for a license to carry a gun.
Any political party, politician, judge (etc), organization or individual who trys to convince you that:
1) you must register a firearm
2) you must pass a background check
3) you must wait (x) amount of days before you can get your firearm
4) you need to have a license to carry a gun
is either uneducated about OUR rights as citizens
OR is actively working to undermine OUR country.
How Did the Founders Understand the Second Amendment?
CONGRESS in 1866, 1941 and 1986 REAFFIRMS THE SECOND AMENDMENT
The Bill of Rights, including the Second Amendment right to keep and bear firearms,
originated in the United States Congress in 1789 before being ratified by the States.
On three occasions since then--in 1866, 1941, and 1986--
Congress enacted statutes to reaffirm this guarantee of personal freedom
and to adopt specific safeguards to enforce it.
ON THE DAY BEFORE Thanksgiving 1993,
the 103d US Congress brought forth a constitutional turkey.
The 103d Congress decided that the Second Amendment did not mean what it said
("...shall not be infringed") and passed the Brady bill.
How the Brady Bill Passed (and subsequently - "Instant Check")
When the Brady Bill was passed into law on November 24, 1993,
the Senate voted on the Conference Report
and passed the Brady Bill by UNANIMOUS CONSENT.

With the exception of a [gun-control advocate] MMM t-shirt wearing woman who got on an elevator with a SASter and told her she wished she had a gun so she could shoot the SASter, things were pretty calm between the two camps.ROFLOL!

More proof - as if it were needed - that the AWB is DOE (Dead On Expiration).
There is absolutely no strength left in this particular variant of the gun grabber agenda.

With the exception of a MMM t-shirt wearing woman who got on an elevator with a SASter and told her she wished she had a gun so she could shoot the SASter,The hypocracy of the left has no bounds. The MMM is supposed to be pro-speech, anti-gun, and anti-violence yet here is an idiot wishing she had a gun to MURDER someone who simply disagreed with her and expressed a different opinion. I would demand that assault charges be brought up against her.

Great to see a turnout there, especially considering the fact the gun issue isn't getting as much press as 2000.

May I 'shoot' this to the top? Pun intended.
I second it on the speakers ---exceptional. I also liked the opening readings from different SAS State Co-Ordinators --who read news accounts of instances where the use of a gun thwarted or ended an attack.
Something funny -- I bought a ball point pen - in the shape of a big bullet - at the SAS goods table. (guage anyone?). The actual shell is real, but it is only a pen. When I went to the parking garage at the Reagan building, I had to pass thru security. Before I put my bags on the moving belt, I stopped and pulled out my 'bullet' to show them. I told them I didn't want it to show up on the x-ray and cause an incident. They were curious, but allowed it thru. I guess I didn't look like a gun-totin'moll! LOL!
Actually, one of the security guards was more concerned about my carrying my poster/sign. He said that posters weren't allowed in the building. I told him that I had spoken to him earlier in the building when I was trying to find which door to go in and out of - and I had the poster then. He hadn't noticed it, he said. I also told him that I was simply going to my car - nowhere else, --so he let me through. It is too bad that it has to be this way, but the 3 guards acted very professional, and were very alert.

Looks like SAS really took the wind out of the MMM sails last year.

How sad, only 300 people in a metro area of 3 million thought enough to get to a rally for gun rights. Shameful, no wonder the left doesn't take us seriously. Their pathetic group still drew 7 times what pro gunners had.
To: kristinn
it would seem that the liberal body politic has chosen abortion as its do-or-die issue this year, leaving the fight for more anti-gun laws on the back burner The Democrats aren't stupid enough to ignore the plain fact that, if it weren't for the votes they lost on the gun prohibition issue, Al Gore would be President.

BufordP told of an incident he observed. I'm paraphrasing here, so, Buford ----if you are here, correct me.
A reporterette was taking notes, and asking one of the observers about how he felt about guns and an incident that had happened, in the very area recently, involving a child. The interviewee was at a loss for words, and Buford decided to speak up. He asked the reporterette if this incident happened in the very district that has the strongest gun control laws in the land?? I guess that shut her up.
As one of the speakers, on stage, had said --- 'she was speaking to the choir'. She was, but there were people there, hoping to catch us slipping up, so they could spread it in their publications.
I surfed the channels last night, and did see that CBS had scanned their cameras across us. (I saw my poster)
This Marriott I'm staying in, DOES NOT have FNC. I'm going to complain when I check out!! I don't like Imus anymore, and have CNN on. I'd forgotten how biased it is. SoledadO'B is impossible!!!!

The reason there wereonly 2,000 able to attend is because the others are involved in anti-wat protest activity.
