Chris Wallace Leaves me in Tears

Chris Wallace advertised his Sunday news show as a time to put the names of our fallen soldiers in context.
Ted Koppel had simply read the names of the soldiers who have sacrificed all, the last full measure of devotion, for us to live in peace and for the Iraqis to have a unique and blessed chance to find peace and security and democracy. So, Chris Wallace decided to have a show to put those sacrifices in context, and talk about all the good things that the American soldiers had done in Iraq.
So, I tuned in, and I am still sobbing and shaking with anger remembering how he started the show with over fifteen minutes of a rehash of the last 10 days feeding frenzy over the terrible abuses a few soldiers had perpetrated on some Iraqi prisoners.
CONTEXT?!?!
THIS is the context you want me to remember our war dead!!
You garbage, you thoughtless garbage!
I was too upset to watch the "tribute" which came after the filthy trash.
I'll never watch that cruel, demented show ever again.

#136..Now THIS is an excellent & concise example of honest disagreement!!
The poster presents an opposite point of view but states it matter of factly and presents identifying segments of difference that the original poster might have overlooked..

You are giving incorrect information about Fox, and are way off base lumping them in with the other networks. Did you know that FOX was the ONLY news channel to cover the Swift Boat Veterans Press conference?? AND.......they continously played that segment over and over and over again throughout the day..........

Sill waiting for answer.
Why did FOX NOT cover Hanoi Kerry's Press Conference?
The one with Hanoi Kerry's commanders in Viet Nam?
Guess FOX is afraid of the truth.

Let FOX know what???Sorry if I wasn't clear. I meant we need to let FOX know we want to see more positive reports of successes in Iraq.

You describe it perfectly. WAY UNDERDONE. It was nice, but the brief time allotted and the pathetic choice of music...well...sucked. I didn't like the format because it didn't come across as much of a tribute. And why was Chris Wallace "astonished" at all the accomplishments by our military in Iraq?
Following the usual twisted reporting and biased interviews made it even worse.

I agree (so boring!) I thoroughly enjoy Cal Thomas...and have put distance between me and Fox when O'Reilly is on...(although I admit to sneaking a peak now and then just to see if there is a guest I want to hear from--that is if O'Reilly isn't too busy interjecting HIS final word and/or Bush bashing...arrgh!)

Tonk -
I'm grateful we have men like you,
a true Vietnam Veteran,
a true hero (who humbly claims, "just doing my duty"),
and a true patriot,
to lead the fight against the pretender, John Kerry.
Kerry has no core.
Kerry does not love this country.
Kerry should not be our president,
nor should he be our commander in chief.

Those who have lost someone very dear in the service of our country maybe can understand my reaction. I guess those that haven't suffered this loss can't.
Here is my tribute for our war and service dead, which has been on my profile page for the last few years.
Before Grief
While I sit the light fails, then fades
Into evening, shade upon shades
Till the room is dusk, then dark
While I sit.
Sweet life, your bitter edge has come
And I am loath to move.
Time crystallized will shatter
With a breath, and only left
Will be to draw the sheet and weep
For memory's shards.
Here in the eternal moment
I hold them whole, unmarred.
There is no loss, only the last,
A savored, living link
With the oh, so cherished past.
Fail light; night has come
So black I cannot see the bed.
Fail light, ....go
And leave me with my dead.

"Did you know that FOX was the ONLY news channel to cover the Swift Boat Veterans Press conference?? "
They DID NOT cover the Press Conference!
And the "snippets" failed to mention these were Hanoi Kerry's Commanders.
AND they spun it for Hanoi Kerry.
I'll be dammed if I watch a hatchet job on these vets!

My wish is that O'Reilly and Dennis Miller were on at the same time. That way there'd be a good chance one of them might be worth watching at any given moment

Major changes? Such as? Are they going to become an even more leftward leaning and rumor spewing broadcasting organization than they have since the major combat ended in Iraq last year? I haven't read my ShopTalk newsletter in a couple of weeks, so I wasn't aware of the NBC guy making a move to FOX.

Stop!
You know FOX refused to carry the live Press Conference.
Quit defending them.
Did you even see the whole Press Conference?
Cuz I KNOW you didn't see it on FOX!
It was on C-Span2, for 1 hr and 20 min

They DID cover it!! I wached it, and they did NOT spin it for Hanoi John. Don't get me wrong. I HATE John Kerry, and I wouldn't vote for him if he was running for dog catcher. Personally, I think he is a TRAITOR to his country. But....your trashing of Fox is NOT fair and it is NOT accurate.....

Actully I don't think anything I said in post #128 was a personal attack.
I thought I was very civil in my disagreement.
