[history]
"Week after week after week after week," said Sen. Ted Kennedy, Massachusetts Democrat, about President Bush's rationale for going to war with Iraq, "we were told lie after lie after lie after lie." Were we?
Jordan recently seized 20 tons of chemicals trucked in by confessed al Qaeda members who brought it in from Syria. The chemicals included VX, Sarin and 70 others. But the media seem curiously incurious whether one could reasonably trace this stuff back to Iraq. Had the terrorists released a "toxic cloud," Jordanian officials say 80,000 would have died.

Another great commentary piece in the Washington Times today. Why isn't this story getting more attention? Why doesn't the Bush Administration push this news and bring it into the forefront?

Why isn't this story getting more attention? Why doesn't the Bush Administration push this news and bring it into the forefront? Maybe they will...around October.

The press will discover May's story in October, just as they discovered January's story in May! Don't worry! It will be Bush's fault! ;-) They will call it an October Surprise!

Clinton used the "old news" defense successfully, no reason to expect it not to work again.
Plus an opportunity to assail the entire Iraq campaign from another angle:
Dribs and drabs of findings, across the subcontinent and over many months [already underway]. Then the retort that:
a. The movements were reported earlier, so why even mention them in October [but, since the subject has been raised...],
b. There were no stockpiles in Iraq, hence no immediate threat from Saddam, and
c. Since the stockpiles were moved before invasion, why didn't we attack the stockpiles instead of poor defenseless Iraq....

This is probably the worst thought I have ever had because I don't wish harm to my fellow man, but as horrible as it sounds, I wish these guys had released at least some of the chemical weapons in Jordan (Please forgive me God for this thought), so the the undeniable evidence would be in front of the world.
The UN food for oil bribe program and this story are the most unreported stories of the War on Terror.

It is amazing how the press chooses not to make a big deal out of a story like this. And they don't think that represents bias? I like what Loftus says:
"It's embarrassing to the (press). They've staked their reputations that this stuff wasn't there. And now all of a sudden we have al Qaeda agents from Iraq showing up with weapons of mass destruction."
It's all about covering their own mistakes in judgment. If they just stuck to reporting, they wouldn't have a problem. But because they editorialize, because they not only say no WMD have been discovered, but also say Bush lied and knew there were no WMD, then they are exposed as political hacks and not trustworthy if this story gets a lot of notice.

The press will discover May's story in October, just as they discovered January's story in May!Kinda strange they rediscovered the alleged prisoner abuse just in time to take the very heavy heat off Gorelick and the 9-11 Commission. Seems to have saved her arse for the time being. < /sarcasm>

Tell the Olympic swimmer, Clinton gave MORE poignant speeches regarding WMD along with....We will invade them and change that regime and we won't ask the world "should we" (These are my words but it's the gist of it.)
