Myers: everyone determined to see it though.
Warner: I would anticipated you have consulted with colleagues in CENTCOM and will continue to assess increase.
Myers: We will not underestimate impact. It was the pictures that prompted him to try to delay. thought pictures would have bad effect on troops, perhaps resulting in death to our forces.

Levin: Naked prisoners in lump on floor, soldiers apparently unconcerned. Concerned that conduct was partof organized and conscious process to extract info. Taguba report: witness to prisoners made to do thinks he would question morally; quoted mil int as "loosen the guy up for us" " make sure he gets the treatment."
Taguba report: Mil int interrogators actively requested the MP guards set phys and ment conditions for interrogation of witnesses; assignees directed to change facility procedures to specs of mil int.
What were the changes? Was it proper?

These hearings have the potential to have even more bad effects -- how many GI's died as an indirect result of Kerry's 1971 testimony. At least Myers got the effects out on the table. How many GI's have you killed today Sen. Kennedy?
