They nominated the wrong guy.
Remember the great line in "Raiders of the Lost Ark" where Indy and his sidekick figure out that the staff was too tall, and both said simulaneously, "They're digging in the wrong place?"
You can just hear the Dems moaning quietly, "We've nominated the wrong guy." For the war issues, Kerry was exactly the wrong guy specifically because of his Vietnam flip-flops. Howard Dean would have been so much more credible, and so much more consistent.
Of course, neither could win on the economy.

Hello (fairly) New Freeper. Any reason you can give us for believing this report?
It's chock-full of specifics one would never expect to be accessible to an opposition researcher. But then, maybe we've got a mole burrowing deep inside Kerryville.

The 9-11 Commission is already going to discredit Bush in their report. If we push things too far, there is bound to be a backlash, our source told us."
I thought this was the most interesting comment in the article. How do the Dems know what the final report of the Commission is going to say? Maybe the partisan Dems are giving the Kerry people a preview of what they are going to report, regardless of what the evidence shows.

If Congress and the Arab world were enraged by the photos of prisoners... perhaps we should be showing more photos of the events of 9-11 and the dozens of other Arab Muslim acts of horror...
Why should the American public be "protected" from THOSE photos...
The media and Democrats ARE THE ENEMY WITHIN...
Their agenda is obvious..

I suspect Kerry knows who is behind this and is quite content in leaving him in the desert to fin for himself.

From a PR stand point, this really does hurt Kerry for many reasons. Mostly because it emphasizes his own remarks about war atrocities and the behavior of soldiers. How does he respond without looking like the turd he was in the 70s? How does he respond and ignore his statements about his own behavior? Women were heavily involved in this. It's not PC to bash women in the military.
Kerry has an issue that is ripe and can do nothing to take advantage of it. In the end, this will be a net win for Bush, Rummy, and the military. They'll rise to the occassion and take care of the problem. In a few weeks, everyone will be carping about something new.

oh goody...if John "F-ing" Kerry keeps it up, maybe the FCC should check in on him. All it takes is one slip up on the mic or in front of the camera.

Kerry fears the longer the issue stays in the news, the greater the likelihood his controversial accusations of war crimes committed by US soldiers in Vietnam including his own will become an ancillary issue in the campaign for President. Also, the more people hear about the abuse and realize that it was not 'torture', and was handled months ago, will start asking "Why all the hoopla, now?" and the blowback to the Dems will start.
Frankly, I hope Rumsfeld hands the Dem Senators their heads on platters today!

This is surreal. Something smells off about it. How is it that we have access to this info? In what universe would ANY democrat not be better off with Rummy out? What am I missing about this story?

Oh boy, Kerry has become a greater liability to the Democratic partisan hacks than expected.
This might explain why vicious Chuckie Schumer was being soft on Rumsfeld.

"But according to our source inside the Kerry campaign..."Any chance on your source sharing this tidbit with some of the honest press, eg. Washington Times, National Review, FOX?

The photos of those alleged cases of abuse have enraged the Arab world. Is the Arab world enraged again?!? Every day there is something in the news about how enraged the Arab world is. It seems they are going to burst a collective blood vessel, they are getting so enraged. How much more enraged can they get? The only time it seems that they are happy is when events like 9/11 occur. At some point, you would think the press would realize that it is no longer news that the Arab world is enraged. Something that happens every day is not news.
