"I'm starting to think the '04 dems are like the '96 pubbies--we gave it to Dole because it was "his turn", or because we thought we had to have someone quick, to engage Clinton early. We wanted to dump Clinton so badly we panicked."As a person and as a candidate, Senator Dole was better respected than Senator Kerry. Both Senators suffered from a failure to introduce a positive policy idea for America, however. They both ran essentially a "dump the incumbent" or "we want change but can't say how" sort of campaign.
Senator Dole has humor and respect. Senator Kerry has most of the mainstream press shilling for him. Expect similar results for both.

I am really very wary of the scary John F. Kerry.
He doesnt mind a bit if two hairy fairies marry.
He wants to raise the tax.
And give W the axe.
If this passive-ass gets in office, learn to ride a dromedary!

I hear that Kerry has a plan. And I also heard that he served in Vietnam.
It's a compelling campaign message, I think.

Change to what? How's this for starters? They might as well be honest, or are they afraid they'd be hung up and quartered if Americans found out what they're really up to? (From 'The Road to Serfdom', p 201):
Individualism must to come an end absolutely. A system of regulations must be set up, the object of which is not the greater happiness of the individual, but the strengthening of the organized unity of the state for the object of attaining the maximum degree of efficiency, the influence on which on individual advantage is only indirect.
This hideous doctrine is enshrined in a sort of idealism. The nation will grow in closed unity will become, in fact, what Plato declared it should be - 'Der Mensch in Grossen'. The old order of industry, which is dying today, is based on Profit; the new US of the twenty-first century is to make an end of the system of capitalism.

John Nichols is the editor of The Madison Capital Times the biggest "progressive" rag in Wisconsin my home state. He's also a regular on Wisconsin Public Radio (natch). Not surprisingly the host of the program Nichols appears on, Jean Feraca, never bothers to tell the listening audience of Nichols extreme left wing slant. He is treated like the sage of sages by WPR.

...even as George Bush has taken more serious blows to his credibility than any sitting president since Richard Nixon in the first years of his second term...And, much to the leftist's befuddlement, weathered every one of them and came out on top.

Writer and activist Arianna Huffington, who has written a good new book about the Bush crowd, Fanatics and Fools, was particularly concerned. A none-of-the-above voter in 2000, she's determined to achieve regime change in the White House this year and she recognizes that Kerry offers the only realistic hope for sending Bush back to Texas. But she is so worried about Kerry's cautious campaigning that she has penned a letter to the candidate, which she hopes hundreds of thousands of activists will sign. The letter urges the presumptive Democratic nominee to, "Offer voters a bold moral vision of what America can be. A vision that is bigger than the things that divide us. A vision that brings hope and soul back to our politics and appeals to more than voters' narrow self-interests. A vision that makes America once again a respected force for good in the world. Aw c'mon, who's she kidding? Kerry has no moral standing to lead America as a respected force. As far as I am concerned and according to Kerry himself, he's a war criminal. Kerry doesn't practice what he preaches. His beliefs and core values are determined by his flip-flopping attitude to satisfy the latest polls.
