Heard this on the local news this morning. Funny, they didn't mention his political affiliation.

Didn't Red Foxx as Fred Sanford use the term? Then it should be OK, Right?

But it isn't offensive, unless there is an (R) after your name.
If you are a (D) you can say all kinds of neat stuff, like how a Klansman would have been a great American Leader, during the Civil War era.....

My, this is unusual!! As a rule, left wingers never criticize a democrat for some imagined slur.
There is nothing wrong with the term "wetback." It describes an illegal alien who swam across the river to sneak into this country. It is a euphemism. Those who profit from wetbacks' work in this country prefer the euphemisms, "Latin princes," "noble workers from the south," or "brave innocents in an unfriendly land." You use the euphemism you prefer and I'l use theone I prefer. And, I promise that I will not force you to use the biased label that I believe is much more accurate.

What Buck said was stupid, but the media is playing it up because Buck is actually one of the more conservative Dems in the State House. Notice what this person says...
''We certainly would be glad to meet with him to discuss what is appropriate language when referring to Hispanics and Latinos in the United States.''
If I were Buck, I'd say, "The Constitution grants me the right to use whatever terms I wish. I'd be glad to meet with you to discuss it."

And on South Park they called the illegals from the future "Goobacks." Seems the aliens arrived with a film of bluish goo on them. Heheheheh.

Other good excuses...
"My family calls them 'wetbacks' not me. "
"I was going to say, 'wet VAC' but some son of a b*tch pushed my lip."
"I actually didn't say 'wetback' before I said it."

''If he's using the term wetback, literally meaning they got wet crossing the Rio Grande, how does he know that they did that?'' Gonzalez said. ''By looking at the color of their skin?'' And this guy is an absolute idiot if he does not know the term wetback comes from illegals crossing the river.
