And then: a soldier holding a leash tied around a man's neck in an Iraqi prison. He is naked, grimacing and lying on the floor.
Mixed in with more than 1,000 digital pictures obtained by The Washington Post are photographs of naked men, apparently prisoners, sprawled on top of one another while soldiers stand around them. There is another photograph of a naked man with a dark hood over his head, handcuffed to a cell door. And another of a naked man handcuffed to a bunk bed, his arms splayed so wide that his back is arched. A pair of women's underwear covers his head and face.

I don't want to sound like the big "H", but has anyone asked these people responsible if they did these things in hopes to make Bush and our country look bad so the U.S. would pull out of Iraq? Yes I'm talking a vast LEFT-WING conspiracy. That is what I am thinking as well. Sure makes sense because taking these pictures make no sense otherwise. Wonder if they were paid to do this?

If this man is a soldier too, then this pic should be removed.

I've been wondering why anyone would want to take pictures of such behaviour. Sounds like you're a well-adjusted human being.
Why do murderers and arsonists return to the scene of their crimes, take home souvenirs, etc? You have to be not well-adjusted to do these things. And regular folks aren't going to understand why, thank God.

That said, someone has leaked pictures from the investigation to the mediaFred Barnes said on Special Report that he knew about this back in January because the commanders said they were looking into possible human rights violations on down the ranks. Here we are, the month of May, the campaign season in full swing, and the photos crop up.

I hope they throw the book at them. I would still like to know who is selling these pictures to the press. Is it someone who took the pictures or someone involved in the investigation? Are these the same sort of crimes that Kerry claims he participated in? Are these the kind of crimes Kerry knew about but did not report? Are these crimes comparable to the killing and mutilation that Iraqis perform on foreigners who come to help them but don't get punished for in Falluja?Iraqis are very shocked and outraged over mistreatment of prison inmates but not so outraged when they commit the same crimes.

"I'm being sarcastic, however whenever I see these stupid pet tricks, I remember seeing Jessica Lynch and Lori Piestewa, I remember seeing the desecrated bodies being dragged and hung in Fallujah.", Hmmm.....anyone remember how THE MEDIA showed pictures of all those poor souls who had to jump to their deaths from the Towers on 9-11?.....over and over..and those people didn't live to tell about it. (No, didn't think anyone could.) Stupid people did this, but at least these prisoners were not killed, maimed, nor, if I'm mistaken, even touched ......

Guys, face it. This is the begining of the end. I have seen my own family turn and do a complete 180 in the past week. It is utterly amazing the affect this has had.

Who took the digital photos and why? That is the question I have? And wouldn't those in the photos wonder about that also. It almost seems as if they did not feel what they were doing was bad. Would that indicate these pic are taken out of context? For example, the pic at the start of this thread. Why the leash? What is taking place in this picture?

I agree with you.
Something STINKS!
Why would anyone submit to being photographed like this?
However, I must admit. If these images are authentic, I have developed a hatred toward this woman as she is depicted.
I desire to evaluate the raw data first. Something is not correct and it screams fraud.

It may not be as "bad" as it looks. It certainly is! I am not in panic mode, as some are... I believe this has to be an unauthorized, unsupported and definately out of bounds behavior of a few. I want them gone. But trying to pass this off as anything less than disgusting and below us does us a disservice.

The initial gut reaction is whatta way for Americans to demonstrate American ideals. Then after some deep breathing exercises, I have to ask who took these photos?
Why were they allowed to be taken?????????????

I remember seeing videotape of 19 US Marines being dragged through the streets of Somalia, and the townsfolk were cheering and celebrating, and little kids swinging from the chopper blades of Blackhawk helicopters like they were monkey bars.
Not that it makes any difference but those were Army Rangers. But let's forget about that and get back to the porn pictures that the media repeatedly shows because we obviously can't get enough of it.
To: MN_Mike
Dear Friends: Don't you see that every photo that shows the horror of war is now about to be portrayed as a new abuse picture? I'm reading these descriptions and they say nothing about prisoner abuse. Photos of bodies. Animals skinned. Prisoners handcuffed to a bed. It's like the Salem witch trials, the McMartin school molestation hysteria, and the John Kerry Vietnam smears all rolled into one. This is now becoming a mass hysteria. And in the end if no one will stand up for America and stop this nonsense, America will be defeated and eventually destroyed. Over what? A skinned cow?

Don't act like the camera is the problem here... Looks to me like the actions are posed entirely FOR the camera.

LOL I am glad I am not the only one who has thought about this today. I hope someone is looking into these questions.
As much as I know that there are sickos all over this earth (and these acts make me ill and mad), I just don't understand why they let these things get passed around seemingly without fear of being found out.

I have developed a hatred toward this woman as she is depicted.Depicted as what? Overpowering a man? In some ways it's normal for a woman to be the decision maker in this country, varily overpowering a man. In the Arab world, women are nothing more than second class citizens.
