And then: a soldier holding a leash tied around a man's neck in an Iraqi prison. He is naked, grimacing and lying on the floor.
Mixed in with more than 1,000 digital pictures obtained by The Washington Post are photographs of naked men, apparently prisoners, sprawled on top of one another while soldiers stand around them. There is another photograph of a naked man with a dark hood over his head, handcuffed to a cell door. And another of a naked man handcuffed to a bunk bed, his arms splayed so wide that his back is arched. A pair of women's underwear covers his head and face.

Your family is weak. If it's true what you say, that is more vulgar than anything that you could see with your eyes.

A girl soldier delightfully pointing out the penises of some naked men with bags over their heads. Geez. Can't a girl have any fun? After all, she smoke cigarettes, too. And by the way why DO the men have bags over their heads? Could it be to disguise their American facial expressions? I think all of these photos are staged or altered. If not, what kind of numskull would smile to the camera as they were taken? Those "staged or altered" photos were on a digital photo CD containing hundreds of photos confiscated by U.S. military investigators. The report of that investigation has already been posted on FreeRepublic:
ARTICLE 15-6 INVESTIGATION OF THE 800th MILITARY POLICE BRIGADE
The U.S. photos did not originate in the mailbox of a British tabloid. The U.S. photos were confiscated from U.S. servicemembers in Iraq by the U.S. military.
"Geez. Can't a girl have any fun?"
Not in front of a friggin' camera.
Not while wearing the uniform of the U.S. Army.......(and, yes, BDU's with regulation T-shirts were considerd the "uniform of the day" at that facility.)
Not inside a military facility whose operational information would be classified on a "need to know" basis.
A military photographer may take photos in restricted ares in an official capacity for official purposes.
An idiot with a pocket digital camera, however, would be court-martialed for taking private photos for his own jollies in a restricted area whether or not those photos were G-Rated or XXX-Rated.
"What kind of numskull would smile to the camera as they were taken?"
The same kind of perverted idiot that would be be court-martialed for taking naked pictures of his American female U.S. Army subordinates at the same prison.
A former National Guard commander is accused of taking naked pictures of female U.S. soldiers while they showered last year at the Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq, a newspaper reported. ........ Capt. Leo V. Merck, 32, of Fremont faces a court-martial, the Contra Costa Times reported in today's editions. ....Spc. Myrna Hernandez, 26, of Antioch told the newspaper she was showering on Nov. 12 at the same time as two other female soldiers when she saw Merck on his hands and knees taking pictures with a digital camera.
What was done at the prison was not merely sexual "fun" conducted in private behind close doors between consenting adults.
What was done at that prison was a massive wound to the U.S. war effort conducted in front of a digital camera and therefore in front of the entire World via the Internet.

"Something smells about this whole deal."
Yes it does. And that woman's family commented that, in effect, she shouldn't be there, that we shouldn't have fought the war, etc.. Standard anti-war boilerplate. I find that very suspicious. Is it possible that these abusers did so in order that it be discovered, to discredit the U.S.? Seems crazy, but can they maybe have believed that there wouldn't be any real punishment? This whole thing is absolutely, completely NUTS-- but then again, so are most anti-war types.

Re#360 No, it won't be forgotten. I'm anticipating a week and perhaps more of saturation. Then, it will die out. As to W, the sheeple do not hold him responsible. While it will turn the body politic against the war (for a while), the 'Nam days are over. JMHO...

On the money! The reaping has just begun I am afraid and our children and grandchildren will pay for our letting the liberals and lawyers tear America apart under the guise of Individual rights and the so called "rule of law".
The only rights that matter are those of the left.

Very interesting, huh?
And her family says she was in the wrong place at the wrong time?
What do they mean by that? That she was somewhere where somebody was able to get her picture doing all this stuff?
The words "white trash" come to mind.

Well, I'm here to tell you that these pictures are going to be DRIBBLED out. This is 100% political, now. It is clear that it wasn't an "accident" that someone got these pictures, and the idea is for the Left to release a few every few days to keep this story alive.

What's sickining is when so-called Conservatives are all to ready to think the worst of our militaryThese barbarians are wearing the uniform. Like it or not, their actions reflect on the entire US military.
I wore the uniform for eight years. It was a privilege to do so. These scumbags dishonored the uniform, and they need to get 20 years of breaking boulders into gravel for their trouble and the havoc they've raised with executing the mission.
Pretending that it's somehow OK because of who the target is the really sickening part.

That works for me in total. Have to keep that in mind -- remember when he ran against Ma Richards -- wasn't worried at all he was going to win. I was a nervous wreck because I wanted her defeated so bad. Ma and the RATs underestimated him in 1994 and are still doing it today!

So what if our enemies are likely to not care about the GC when holding Americans/Westerners. We still expect them to - so shouldn't we hold fast to the same rules we preach? The people we a holding over there ARE NOT POWs and are not covered under the Geneva Convention. They are terrorists and thugs and while I don't especially like what is happening, life can be a bitch sometimes. These people are the goons setting off car bombs and lobbing RPG around killing not just GIs but many many more Iraqi civilians as well. If we can make them talk, we will save lives.
I'm getting sick of all of this election-year driven over-reaction treating this like it is the Battan Death March or some Soviet Gulag. We humilited some thugs. BFD.

Thanks -- thought this was a Reserve Unit which means they have a lot of college kids in them since they wanted the Reserves to help pay their way through college and never bargained to be called to active duty. We have Guard and Reserve people here at the university who had been called up.
If she is restricted to base and not charged, I wouldn't think she would have legal counsel yet although are we talking about private legal counsel or the JAG? She has the right to ask to speak to a JAG and that would not be denied. Of course we only have part of that story from her Mom.

Why are the photos coming out now? That is what I have been asking even though I keep getting told that I am supporting the lowlifes by asking. I think it is pertinent to find out who released these photos to the press!

Have you noticed NY Times, Sy Hersh, Wash Post, and other liberal outlets have become total favorites of the Hate Bush crowd on here. Cannot believe any conservative would buy into the crap those outlets are peddling without asking why? Speaks volumes about some on here if you ask me.
Always wondered who supported Kerry or Hillary in the previous poll! :)

You need a dose of reality -- cost Pres Bush the Presidency -- never! Do you know when the election is and how few people participated in this?
Obviously you don't like Pres Bush or you wouldn't make such a ludicrous statement.
People in this Country are more intested in the last episode of Friends if AOL is to be believed then this crap by a FEW reservists!
