And then: a soldier holding a leash tied around a man's neck in an Iraqi prison. He is naked, grimacing and lying on the floor.
Mixed in with more than 1,000 digital pictures obtained by The Washington Post are photographs of naked men, apparently prisoners, sprawled on top of one another while soldiers stand around them. There is another photograph of a naked man with a dark hood over his head, handcuffed to a cell door. And another of a naked man handcuffed to a bunk bed, his arms splayed so wide that his back is arched. A pair of women's underwear covers his head and face.

That anyone at FR would even persuse that nutter site is an oddity. It's anti-America, anti-semitic filth, 24-7.

Were there not reports of al queda having US uniforms?
????? You can buy stuff at every army/navy store on the planet?????
The real question is whether any of the men shown in the pictures is actually a war prisoner. Forget the girl; have any of the "prisoners" in these pictures been identified? Perhaps these are just bored US troops horsing around.

I'm sorry, I just can't come up with a reason to shed any tears over this so called "outrage".
The way the Iraqi's treated British and American POW's during the first Gulf War was truly sickening...
To me this is much to do about nothing...
so go ahead and flame away!
To: Poohbah
The fact is that this whole thing is being blown WAY, WAY out of proportion.
What's sickining is when so-called Conservatives are all to ready to think the worst of our military, and want us to get on our knees before the Arab world and the leftists, and apologize for being Americans, for being in favor of the war, because of isolated events that pale in comparison to the atrocities that have been perpetrated against Americans in this war.
I won't do it and I don't care what people think of me because I won't do it.

This is my biggest concern. Do these people realize what this potentially can mean for any of our guys/gals who get captured? They're feeding the flames of hate and this is what makes it even more disturbing; not just that it's wrong and indecent and cruel, etc., but the ramifications of this behavior for our troops and just the incendiary nature of this to feed the minds of those inclined to become terrorists.

Looks like she's playing out her S&M fantasies. Pointing to someone's genitals is an S&M fantasies? Come on. Did you happen to see the body of the contractor who was mutilated and hung from a bridge? Now THAT was sick.

Perhaps, it is just me; but, it does seem that the some "prisoners" are wearing ID wrist bands/watches(?) in some of the photos ... but, not all. Now that wouldn't make sense, would it?

"As a reservist, I would immediately report such conduct up the chain until it stopped. The Rules of Land Warfare do not allow what the pictures show. Ever. I'm very PO'ed about being a reservist and painted with the same brush as the losers that did these things. Same here. I'm a reservist too. It pisses me off how these losers are so unprofessional. I wouldn't tolerate this sort of shit.

Actually, I was perusing worse... I followed a google link looking for one of the 'abuse' suspects... and it took me DU, LOL. The Taguba report looked interesting.. so I ended up at antiwar. Neither site are in my normal "perusing" library

"I dont know what to think but whoever wanted to hurt this administration and this nation sure did a good job"My sentiments too. The damage this is doing is great, more than the left could have hoped for. I pray for a huge turnaround--for the people of Iraq and the nation....

Whatever. The point is a few isolated events are being beaten like a drum by the Bush-haters.
Not surprising in an election year, but the willing accomplice types on the right are sickening.
And guess what? The "Arab street" is not impressed with Bush's TV message to them. Noting less than a resignation and pullout from Iraq, and the conversion of all Americans to Islam will satisfy them, of course.

I guess my question is this: Will this cause GW the Presidency or will most people forget by November 2? I think the latter is unlikely.
