PHONY IRAQI ABUSE OUTRAGE SYNDROME

WHEN GOOD NEWS COMES OUT BAD

Happy Cinco de Drinko everybody!

There's is so much good news in the paper lately. Only problem is it's presented as bad.

The latest trick of the left, which proved incredibly effective last decade in helping Rodney King become a WMD, is to work up a lot of phony outrage at Iraqi prisoners being tortured and abused by our military.

"Iraqi Prisoner Urinated On!" And the problem is..? It's the least we can do, really. OK, you're in the Twin Towers on 9/11/01. What would you choose? Someone flying a packed airliner into your head or getting peed upon in the lobby? Thought so. To the anti-US news reporters the only American allowed to pee on others is R Kelly. The only outrageous thing to me is that the soldiers did not shout, "That's for Tillman and Pearl" while they were emptying their bladders on the kindly shepherds.

Yes, I know. Even Rumsfeld and Bush are outraged. What do you expect them to say? "Well, the White House believes that pissing on a guy has it's merits?" Don't they already have their hands full trying to explain to the mentally disabled of the print media the basic concepts of right vs. wrong and self-defense?

It's sad that the news media treats Michael Jackson better than our military. And it's sad that some people are eager to prosecute any of our military as war criminals before Saddam Hussein answers to his evil.

Abuse is necessary for the survival of a free state. These "prisoners" have another name. Enemy combatants. We are fighting dirty people who see Geneva Conventional warfare as old school. "Yo my sand nigga. That's a bunch of Babylonia. Knowwhatitisthatiamsayingtoyoumyfriend?"

As I said last year on the air to much hootery and derision, the eggshells upon which President Bush must walk to fight this war will continue to cause needless death. Lob a nuke and see what happens. It worked for the Japs. They sure as hell calmed down and concentrated on electronics and sushi.

Everytime we conquer a land everyone wins. When we fought Germany did anyone think it would yield some of the kinkiest porn America has ever seen? Tons of Jews driving Mercedes?

We whipped Russia's ass, everybody loves vodka now...more so than Raymond. It's even flavored for the 'tweens.

Britain and Canada...America's twin sons. We steal all their comedians and TV shows and make them better..Tom Green being the exception.

The South is in much better shape than the North these days. NASCAR is huge everywhere. We even succeed when we kick our own ass! That's how great this country is.

So before we weaken ourselves even further in the eyes of the Arab world by holding congressional hearings on the wedgie, let's make examples of the soldiers who have bravely farted in the face of evil by giving them medals that they can bring back home so John Kerry can toss them over a fence.

TOMORROW: MORE GOOD NEWS DISGUISED AS BAD

In my reading of these threads, there is not one single active-duty FReeper who is not totally sickened by these events. HUGE majority of the vets, too.

I read one heartrending story of not responding to extreme provocation by cheering citizens while a buddy burned in a bombed truck..they did not shoot them.He deplored the prison abuse,he and his buddies are furious at the perps...

#60 for a great letter,#117 to the report or there is a list of abuses on this thread after 117

Pretty horrific stuff.

We, and i say this as a FReeper, are having a hard time finding exactly how we feel.

I made up my mind as soon as the pics were verified as legit.

I went through this before during the Viet Nam scandals and I immediately became enraged.

Not because of the deed, but because of the effect on our guys that are over there now and the ones that are waiting to go back or do their first tour.

I am just enraged. Their is no other word for it.

My guess is that Iraqi's, as a whole, are now a little bit puzzled at our huge reaction to this. I think that is a good thing. We need to keep it up.

Perhaps, one day they will understand us better and have a feel for what we represent.

I hope we can turn this event into a good thing. That is my hope.

Call me crazy!:-)

Conclusion: when there is a situation where some people are given great power over others, some will abuse their power if not closely supervised. Be wise, supervise.

Probably true --- this is the "jackass" generation and what goes for humor with a certain number is going to be disgusting. Plus the democrats gave us them Bill Clinton for a role model ---- and defended him sodomizing the young interns and rape of women in hotel room and kids grew up seeing that kind of abuse of power was accepted.

As I said on my posting, I do not condone what was done in the prison. I am just trying to also bring to light the hypocrisy of the international community.

Hell, one of her "captains" was taking nude pictures of the female Soldiers under his command

I think this guy is already up for a courts marshal.

On the same subject, I noted in the report that she was at another facility where some Iraqi's were shot.

Did I read that right?

Ann Coulter made a remark on Hannity that this is a perfect example of why women should not be in the military.(please do not flame me girls)

I agree with her as to combat areas. But I always thought that was my dominant male side talking.

Perhaps she has a point as to a average womans ability to adjust to a hostile environment, 24/7, as they were in.

I do not know, but it is a good subject for further discussion.

Assuming anyone wants to tackle that subject.:-)

bring to light the hypocrisy of the international community.

For sure! Especially the Euro Trash.

The French news reports are the worst!

We are handling this well, I believe. I really think this negative can be turned into a positive. A least I remain hopeful.

That is another subject altogether and I agree. This has hurt our active duty military and I wonder if you read #126,the list of abuses.

I hate the media and political use of this but I hate those who harm the good guys,as this Commander, some of her officers and the picture posers did.

I agree there is a lot of biased rage in the world, from many Arabs, from many global socialists and from Democrats here in the U.S.

Exactly, I have not heard as much moral outrage about 4 men who were securing the delivery of food to Fallujah who were brutally murdered, their bodies burned, mutilated and hung from bridges. I am disgusted by the actions of a small number of our military. Their actions will definitely set back any gain we have made. However, I am reviled at the hypocrisy of the rest of the world and within the U.S.

You know, MEG, I have not read it and you want to know why? I am so tired of the negative being constantly in the forefront and none of the positive. If our media had been showing continuously the Iraqi school children who have refurbished schools and supplies(donated by the American public)and the new sewage system the 101st built in Mosul where these people had been without for 7 years or the fact that people feel free to protest now even if it's against us but they have that feeling of freedom to do so BECAUSE OF THE MAJORITY OF OUR MILITARY MADE IF POSSIBLE FOR THEM-maybe things would be different. But since day one the media has focused on the mostly the negative. Our troop morale is probably suffering for it and now with this newest scandal I'm sure it will be worse. As I said I,too, am outraged at the photos that are constantly being shown on T.V. as though no one in the world has already seen them and I want whoever is responsible to be brought to justice. I just want there to be equal time to all the good things that America has brought to the people of Iraq.

Yeah, amazingly enough, I am still hopeful too. I believe in what our people are doing in Iraq inspite of the actions of a few. Our military has done a wonderful thing by getting rid of Sadam's regime. I just wish I could see more the Iraqi's earning it.

I am on my knees saluting you FReeper Brother.

Amen.

I am on my knees because I am praying to the Lord that this doesn't happen again.

Amen.

I am saluting you because you are doing one hell of a job.

Bless both of your hearts,

Amen!

Thanks for the post, Long Cut, and thanks for the ping, Eaker.

This former river Sailor (PBR boat captain, and I handled POWs more than once) repudiates the abuse, and joins the national outcry for a reasoned but righteous display of our indignation.

I'm confident that we will speak as one people, and our uproar will show reasonable people everywhere that this is not representative of our great country. I'm ashamed of these servicepersons, but still proud that I served.

The unreasonable people who continue to scream about it will just be showing us which side they're on...

Thanks again, Long Cut, for expressing so well the outrage that leaves most of us speechless!

Long Cut,active duty overseas, posted 126 and 117.I am on positive threads every day.I was responding to #60 when I came here.

We cannot change the media or the CNN discussion going on now, that this will create more terrorists, or the abused Iraqi,so humiliated he can't return home, wants money and would move to America. They drive me nuts, but the active duty guys are hurting here, they are angry at the perps. The politics being played were predictable and I hate it.The HYPOCRISY is maddening in the arab, lefty, and international press...and so it goes.

But in our frustration is there nothing we can do? The leftist media has underminded this war since day one. As soon as everyone got done singing Kumbaya at the 9-11 memorial services the mudslinging began. And no matter what ails you, it's always President Bush's fault.
