Not all Iraqi's are Muslim, Monty. Why let them slide that way by letting them think we mainly non-muslims won't be responsible for our actions?
Iraq, the land of Babylon and Nineveh and other biblical and world historical places is much older than Islam, and many of the Persians there are quite proud of that fact. The imams and assorted other Islamic devils are squatters on the land of Iraq.

That's it. I'm done. The America I knew and love is gone. President Bush owes me an apology. HOW DARE HE apologize to the people who want nothing more than to see me dead. We have NOTHING to apologize for. Crap, crap, crap. Bush makes it so hard to support him. This used to be a forum where thinking people discussed things. Now it looks more like an emotional kindergarten where everyone throws emotional fits before they even know what is going on. We're becoming more like DU every day.

You are correct but it doesn't matter. You can't change closed minds. We are hated in that region because we appear weak in a place where power is worshiped.

We're becoming more like DU every day. Yep. The media was reporting something before it happened and as usual people here went ballistic. As has happened many times before, the report was bogus, but for some reason they won't calm down and persist in believing the bogus story was true.

I was going to say that, but I didn't.
I don't mind people disagreeing with the administration and making reasoned arguments as to why, but the hysterical antics is a tad over the top.
---
The interview just aired was the Al Hurrah interview, and the President did well (as usual).
However, coming up any minute is the Al Arabia interview. I wonder if they are going to be more hostile.

Keep your fingers crossed. Islam is in a agressive mood, on the bright side, I suppose a sincere effort to reach these people is a best first strategy, when that fails we can get back to the WOT. Where I Bush, I'd try it first too, and I know it ain't gonna work, but it removes a future liberal agruement. I have no problem with what the President is attempting to do. I just don't think it will work.

I'd rather we had bombed them than raped or molested them. It would have been much more manly.

Doing that kind of thing, trying it out, is when we end up with Vietnam's and the Great Society disasters.

I'd probably me more inclined to have a few troops with spray cans painting "we're sorry" on the next 457398 bombs that are about to be dropped. Film them painting, and send the tape to Al Jezerra.

We are such a weak nation now.Yes, we have people who jump to conclusions without waiting for the facts. We have people who condemn without reason. You are right, these things do weaken us as a nation.

No, Rummy said that every American shoud feel apologetic to the Iraqis. Sorry, but I am not feeling overly sympathetic to them these days. The people who dishonored their country by not only commiting these acts but were stupid enough to take pictures should be court martialed. But, this administration is going over the top by the coutinous flow of adjectives that keep flowing from their pieholes. Disgust, abhorrent, anti American. It is time to stop pooring gas on this fire. Investigate, punish the guilty, make sure that it will not happen again and get on with the business of fighting this damned war.

It's a series of trial balloons. Press releases "Bush will apologize" and half of his base goes nuts. So we don't apologize. Nicely worded statement that doesn't use the word apologize - we had a general do that - and we'll see how this trial balloon does in the middle east.

Not in the case of this war thus far. Most of our pushes have been done this way. The Prez comes out, offer an olive branch, the enemy say "pound sand". Then we pound some of their sand for them, all the while still rebuilding their country and watching over the rest of the middle east region. Can't say the prez didn't try to be reasonable, y'know.

Are you really that stupid or do you just pretend to get a rise out of people like me? People that paint everyone with the same brush regardless of facts are known by a specific name. Care to guess what it is?

I just want to know when someone in the mainstream media will have Kerry on as an expert in this area. When will JUST ONE of them ask him if he puts this prisoner abuse on a par with the atrocities he says he and others commited in VN?
