Rush: Outrage Over Iraqi Prisoner Torture Comparable to Outrage Over Tailhook Scandal
Rush Limbaugh Show ^ | 5/4/2004 | myself

Posted on 05/04/2004 12:05:29 PM PDT by Pyro7480

As he was closing out his show today, Rush Limbaugh stated that the media hype over the Iraqi prisoner torture and one reporter's comparison of the torture to Saddam's regime (and the media's lack of outrage over it) is comparable to the media hype over Tailhook scandal, and the comparable lack of outrage of the storming of the Waco compound.

Only if they're alive.

And do you propose we kill a billion Muslims? If that is you idea on how we should solve our "Islam Problem" you may want to give President Bush a call and see if he is on board with your theory.

The Muslims...the commies...their marxist socialist atheist sodomite allies who hate the America of our founding Fathers...Hate America

These soldiers did not do 'irreparable harm' to America that is nonsense....

These people are always looking for anything and everything the lie...the make garbage up out of whole cloth...the vilify our troops regardless of how we dance around taking this war to the nines like we should...

We got our people trolling around in humvees for RPGs...and after four or five are killed and another ten have limbs traumatically amputated...then we blast the BGs...

We should be leveling whole neighborhoods rather than let one of our people get wounded...and then cut up by muslim women and children to then be burned and further mutilated and the remains put on display for their entertainment and blood lust...

These terrorists sodomized a severely wounded and in much pain...Pvt Lynch...and other women they captured...

They got nothing coming...and when Iraqis start pumping each other in the keister..as middle eastern muslims are prone to do....our guys are dumb enough to take pictures of these sub human invertebrates doing it....

Our people might beat a terrorists to extract info...but that is nothing to what even America has done in our past...which is still nothing compared to what our enemies do to our prisoners...

If you haven't been in the position to have having to deal with such and have a need to get information from them in a most expedient manner in order to SAVE OUR PEOPLE...then you have no right to comment....

muslims will always hate us regardless of how nice we are to them....you cant change them by being nice...they dont get it....kindness is weakness....the only thing they understand is strenght..peace with them is only obtained by superior firepower....and ruthlessness..so much so that they fold...you must take their numbers down so low that they cant wage terror or war anymore

The crusaders found this out the last time they tried to take over the world....those who dont learn from history......

imo

"But it was a nice fantasy for about 30 seconds!"

I don't think wanting revenge on your enemies is wrong. Our hearts and minds cry out for justice all the time, as they should, look at how many times David in the Old Test cried out to God and wanted revenge against his enemies. It was SO stupid to take pictures. Like we don't have enough to deal with!

If you can accept as moral, those pictures all over the news, the video of a chopper using civilians for target practice, and now possible prisoner torture

Don't put words in my mouth -- I most certainly find the actions of these soldiers both abhorrent damaging to our efforts over there. And I condemned them in my first post (although I recommended another course of action).

These aren't prisoners of war, they're terrorists. The major combat ops were over relatively quickly, and now we're attempting to rebuild the country. These people aren't attempting to defeat the U.S. military, they're attempting to stifle our efforts at bringing peace to the region. That's terrorism, and terrorists should not be dealt with as if they were legitimate combatants worthy of Geneva Convention protections.

With the exception of your mindblock against CANADA, the rest of your posts demonstrates that you have evaded the liberal educators' brainwashing.

"Ignorance is not an excuse."

Only under the law, and Rummy is not up for indictment. Someone had to tell him about it before he knew. Then he wouldn't be ignorant.

Let's presecute the bad guys to the full extent of the law and make an example of them...not go scapegoat hunting. Scapegoat hunting would only prove we hold ourselves to a LOWER standard than we say.

I knew the demands for Rummy's resignation would start, tomorrow probably...but thought they would come from Kerry or Kennedy. You were the LAST person I expected to begin beating THAT particular drum first.

Gotta go now. Take care.

>>These aren't prisoners of war, they're terrorists.

Bob Baer has said the vast majority were rounded up in random searches and roadblocks. Or turned in by others.

He mentioned that by one estimate over 60% were/are innocent. As did Taguba's report.

He said the most egregious thing was that the Army had no procedures to have a process that determined the innocence or value of a detainee.

Perfect analysis. This will blow over. And any attempt to paint our troops as war criminals as a campaign issue will certainly backfire.

Personally, I don't like what happened there but I am more or less equally pissed that they filmed it as I am that they did it in the first placed.

I got treated worse in my fraternity hell-week than these bozos, except for the guy-on-guy action.

And let's not forget the Arab obsession with being humiliated. In some wierd way this might actually deter some of them from fighting us.

Anyway, this was still a black eye on our PR team. But it will pass.

I agree with every comment except, "muslims will always hate us regardless of how nice we are to them". I know a few muslims who don't hate us - they are over here because they hated the A-holes living in their native countries, and they never went back. That said, we SHOULD flatten whole neighborhoods, take out anything that gets in our way - including our supposed allies (France and Germany). We need to redraw the lines again, my friend. We need to bring back the Unamerican Activities proceedings and turn back all this liberal "what about the children?!" crap.

You have confused me. You find the actions of the soldiers abhorrent, but accept executions? And if you were in charge of a prisoner compound, your instructions to the guards regarding the treatment of prisoners would be....?

No, of course not. But, I think if we killed a whole lot of the ones shouting "Death to America" it might not be a bad idea.

Well, I've read differing reports. But if indeed it's true that the Army has no procedures to determine the innocence or value of a prisoner, then that's just plain wrong.

He said he hasn't read the report. As did Myers.

If they haven't, that's unconscionable and inexcusable.

If they have, and are professing ignorance, then its CYA.

Either way, its a dodge and they arent' accepting responsibility.

Johnson and McNamara. Bush and Rumsfeld.
