I still think that europe is falling apart from conflicting feelings of guilt for having won/lost, started/participated in, been saved from, WWII.
That and the quiche.

Anyone here read the Rage and the Pride? Translated books are often unreadable, but the content of this book sounds interesting.

Oriana Fallaci's The Rage and the Pride is a must read. Passionate and rightly accusing these fanatics who have declared war on not only America, but the whole Western way of life.
I hope to be one of those millions that buy her newest book!

One cannot start to resist the islamo-plague until our govts openly acknowledge that Islam is the root of the threat. They must state that it is a curse and inconsistent with modern life and freedom. It must be formally rejected as a totalitarian doctrine and it's beleivers considered to be hostile to democracy. Unless this happens, multiculturalist liberal do gooders will bring about the end of civilization.

Cultural relativism and moral relativism, products of moronic secular humanist ideology, are the curse of the West. It's ironic that liberalism ends as extremist Islam.

Europeans can only hope Islam made its play too early, and that theres still time to reverse gains it has made over the past 40 years.
I'd be more optimistic for their future if they were a little more supportive of what the US is trying to do in the middle east.

"Fallaci accuses the Church of helping the expansion of the "Islamic empire," lobbying for more Muslims to come to Europe. "If Europe had listened to the Church and not swallowed 'the pill' and used abortion as the second line of defense against children, European socialism would not need Muslims imported to work their dole society.
The West wants to use greatest military of all times to defeat Islam who is without world class military capability. Not enough, Islam's WMD is Worldwide Migrating Demographics. The weapons they use are time, democracy, and children. Better thinkers than Fallaci are needed. I would suggest the Pope to lead this crusade as he did against Communism.

Having read "The Rage and the Pride", I found I agreed with many of Fallaci's observations and projections. Her blistering diatribes against the Europeans were entertaining. But, really, as an American, I find that she is basically just articulating what would be the viewpoint of the average American if the average American knew all of the recent sordid history of Europe in detail, as Fallaci does. And that's fine. But her arguments against malevolent Moslemism ultimately break down because of her own incoherent political philosophy, with non-descriptions such as "anti-fascist leftist" and "Atheistic Christian". She has value, though, as a hyper-critic of the skanky Europeans

I read about this author last year. She has been getting beat up all over about her views. She had a terrific article about her reaction to driving past a cemetery in Italy... a cemetery filled with American WWII war dead. She was so angry and disgusted about Europe's refusal to support Americans in their defense of themselves. It was an extremely touching and well written piece.

It's somewhat ironic to read that the former anti-American socialist Fallaci, who was such a bitter opponent during the Vietnam War, has suddenly discovered a "yellow peril" (or a "tan peril") in her own backyard, and has decided that the Yanks aren't such nasty guys after all.

Fallaci carefully examines the historic and political reasons that have led Europeans to vilify their own cultureThe primary reason is the multicultural hate propaganda that has been spewing out of Hollywood and U.S. universities for the last 50 years and has poisoned the entire Western world.
