Morning all.. Pip.. enjoyed the thread on your FReep.It looks like you all had fun & had decent weather & met some nice folks.
Hope you were able to settle your mom down. Mine is pretty controlling also (and it is controlling when they make you NOT go or feel quilty when you go to something). I am prolly double your age & still deal with it with my mom. I found a statement I make to my mom is:
"Mom, i may or may not be making a good decision. But it is my decision and as an adult I am prepared to live with the consequences. I plan to be safe & have a good time. If God has other plans, so be it. "
She doesn't like it but gives her a rational statement to consider.I live with her in her home as her caregiver & I find the struggle of respect vs autonomy always present
Mayor.. hope you are okay. Is this routine or are you sick? Am I nosey? YES ! Oh, concern is a more PC word.

We are so very proud of you, Pippin, for going to D.C. Saturday, representing all of us out here who are unable to Freep.
Respect for your mother is strongly ingrained in you, as is her concern she always will have for her child to be safe and sound.
I truly feel, though, that you are of an age and maturity enough to venture forth and express your feelings for the future of America in a significant way.
That she does not fully understand that, and perhaps not share your political sentiments, should not deter you from making the final decision for yourself.
Take advantage of the opportunities Life presents to you, little one, and stretch those wings - -
You have an extended Finest Family who understands and appreciates you, and all you do.
We applaud your heart for our America, and its preservation.
