[history]
Billionaire investor Warren Buffett and Apple Computer Inc. co-founder Steve Jobs are advising Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry on economic issues.
Kerry, 60, the four-term Massachusetts senator challenging President George W. Bush, ``reached out to them and they're giving him economic advice about the deficit and job creation,'' said David Wade, Kerry's campaign spokesman.

Neither Buffett nor Jobs, who ranks 262 on the Forbes list of billionaires, has personally contributed to Kerry's campaign. Buffett donated last year to former Democratic presidential contenders Wesley Clark, a retired Army general, and Florida Senator Bob Graham. Cheapskates. At least Bill Gates contributed the personal maximum - to President Bush....

" Kerry would also create a $4,000-per-year tax credit for college and higher-education students."
Isn't that special? In addition to taxing those of us who make 200K a year, we can pay other people's kids to go to college.

Based on personal and recent experience, 4,000 bucks might just about cover textbooks. What a ripoff THAT is!

And watch the cost of higher education go up.

Buffett, the world's second-richest man, criticized Bush's tax cuts, saying they were ``tilted toward the rich. I've got way more money in my pocket because of the tax change and I don't think it's a good idea.'' Why don't these rich guys who think that we're not taxed enough assuage their guilt by giving their rebated taxes back to the government? Also, what's stopping them from just giving their money to the government, since they seem to like to do that?

Billionaire investor Warren Buffett [is] advising Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry on economic issues. . . but has Kerry warned him that he'll have to do 50 pushups if he ever advocates a tax increase?

"and Apple Computer Inc. co-founder Steve Jobs are advising Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry on economic issues".
"Jobs, 49, has 2000 Democratic presidential candidate Al Gore on Apple's board of directors".
NOW I know why I have HATED Mac's all of these years!

Given the push by many Freepers to boycott Heinz to protest against Kerry, and to boycott Costco because their top executive are anti-Bush, I wonder what the Mac fans will have to say about this.
Kind of a conflict of two dogmas.

Apple Computer employees since January 2003 have given a total of $7,251 to Kerry. That sounds like a pretty paltry amount. Wonder how much Apple employees donated to Howard Dean's campaign? A quick search at the FEC site shows plenty of contributions to Dean, as well as contribs to Clark (and to President Bush, for that matter).

As a consumer, I don't care much about the politics of a company's executives. I just want the best product.
When I cook up a big batch of french fries in my deep fryer, I use the best ketchup - Heinz Ketchup.
